NFL policy may be changing a tad...

First....great win and feels good.Bring on the Lions for win #2. Check out the new TMZ sports video of Rice cold cocking his now "wife" on the elevator camera. She hit him first, then he throws a haymaker to the head. Tried to link it but could not get it to work.Posted this on the football central site, but also brought it here since it relates indirectly to a Panther player..The NFL says that it will take all cases on an indivual basis and dole out punishment as they see fit, so they may be backtracking on the mandatory 6 games..Once this goes viral the NFL will have to give Rice 6 games.Hardy may only get the 2 since his case is he said/she said even if convicted by the jury.Hope we cold cock the Ravens like that P.O.S did to that woman...hit first or not.

Further proof that Goodell is a fuging idiot.  Obviously the video was going to get out eventually.  How can you justify a two game suspension when there is ocular proof of an NFL player spitting on his woman and then hitting her with a left?  Of course Goodell had to backtrack after that. Rice should have been hammered.

If Goodell were to retroactively increase the length of Rice's punishment, after already dealing it out, everyone would come after him. Rice's lawyer, his agent, the Ravens and the NFLPA. I recently heard the Executive Director of the NFLPA do a radio interview, and when discussing the Rice case, he sounded exactly like the piece of poo lawyer everyone would expect him to be. Goodell would have a total poo storm on his hands.

In other words, it would take brass balls to make the decision and say, "Not only did I get it wrong, but when confronted with this evidence, I have no choice but do the right thing, do what society demands, and extend the term of the punishment." Everyone is expecting Goodell to cover his ass and leave it the way it is. Now is the time to prove he won't be held hostage by the NFLPA and lawyers, and he is in fact the law and order commissioner he claims to be. Let's see.

    • Unless the league decides to rollback the rule book 30 years, that player at QB isn't winning any Super Bowls.  QB has to elevate those around him.  QBs that are carried by the team are always exposed in the playoffs. Closest thing to an average QB that has won the SB recently is Jalen Hurts.  But he's so unique with his legs and the unstoppable tush push that I don't think it's easy to compare him to anyone.  Certainly not someone who is subbed out for QB sneaks.
    • You absolutely can have hope. You can’t convert people though; making advocacy posts are kind of … not reading the room.   I had a small hope that he would be able to at least manage some games and that they could make it work in some kind of no fun to watch fashion.  But honestly I had 100% determined he was not NFL starter material, and I had conviction. So to root for him to marginally succeed goes against the best interest of the Panthers long term, according to my beliefs. I wanted him gone the minute he got here if I am honest. It was up to him to prove otherwise.  He has rarely shown me anything to think I was wrong on his ceiling.  He did show me some courage last year, standing in the pocket and stepping into his throw in the face of pressure - but that has gone somewhere. He made some nice throws last year in places too, but they invested in him on the level of the Atlanta game should be his norm. Good luck seeing that again on Sunday. Still, he did it once, so technically it could happen again.
    • Damn that was a longer post than I intended, Maybe I should have started a new thread.
