Offense or Defense based NFL

Defense without question, I still despise the Ty Law rule. I love both very much, but defense all and all.

In general I really just hate how much passing there is, I mean I love a good throwing team but..... now 45 TD'S and 4,200 yards is hardly a thing at all anymore. I love just pounding the rock.

Defense, defense, defense.  Salt and Pepper.  Peppers, Buckner, Jenkins, Rucker.  Dan Morgan (when healthy) and Ricky Manning, JR (before the rule change).  Luke Keuchly and Thomas Davis.  It's what our franchise is based on, and has been since day one.

Last year we all saw one of the greatest offenses in NFL history, and they ran into a stud defense in the Super Bowl.  In the offseason that's all they focused on.

The 49ers of the 80s were headlined by Joe Montana, but Ronnie Lott...

When Brady won all those Super Bowls, it was because he was a game manager who just protected the ball and let his defense win games for him.

Brees won his Super Bowl when he had a defense.

You want offense?  Ask Dan Fouts how many Super Bowl rings he has.  Fewer than Ray Lewis, fewer than Trent-freaking-Dilfer.

Go pick your top ten offenses in NFL history.  Maybe 3 of them won it all.  Now go pick your top ten defenses, and maybe 3 DIDN'T win it all.

Offense is about fantasy, but defense is about winning.

Any questions?

Isnt it the commissioner that presents these changes to the owners and then they vote

The NFL has a lot of committees and some of them are made up of coaches and experts in their field. Most of them are chaired by the owners themselves.

They have competition committees that suggest rules changes to make the game more competitive. Did you know that the NFL has a Head, Neck and Spine Committee? They advise the NFL and NFL clubs on best practices for concussion prevention and management, as well as for avoidance or protection against other head, neck and spine injuries.

In the link provided below for example, the OWNERS had to vote on a report by the sportmanship committee. This report stressed unsportsmalike conduct and that those rules be enforced (which is why you are seeing a lot of flags for celebrations etc).

Changes we see in the game have nothing to do with Goodell. It's the owners themselves as they try to make the game safer and avoid all those law suits which will affect their bottom line
