Watching the Colts Eagles game

I got absolutely nothing against Luck. He seems like a cool guy but the media and his fans are beyond obnoxious. Andrew and Cam aren't that far apart and that's the sad part. Newton isn't even a polished passer yet.

Yeah, there's not much different in their passing and situations.

It's not like Kaep, RG3, Foles, or Wilson who have stacked, or reliable teams on the offense that they can rely on.

Both Cam and Luck have to make it happen themselves.

Ironically, many of Luck's game winning drives, he was helped by his defense, no matter how shitty they were ranked. Unfortunately, many of Newton's game winning drives were thwarted, as his defense (regardless of their ranking) couldn't hold many of the 4th qtr leads he left them.

Funny.

I barely seen any Read Option Sunday, and I don't expect (or want to see much more of it).

And I think most Panther fans (except the racist ones, and true non fans) prefer Cam instead of Luck.

He's their QB now!

Barely saw.

The Eagles were forced to load the box for nearly the entire game, otherwise the read option would have destroyed them. They knew it.

I was speaking about the Panthers against Detroit Sunday.

I was illustrating the point, that Cam's as much as a pocket passer as Luck. He just also has the ability  to make incredible runs to go along with his pocket ability.

Neither are super polished yet, and I'm including Luck in saying that.

Both Kaep, RG3, and even Wilson are behind Cam and Luck in their pocket ability, and if they had to rely on their own skills, sans much help from their team.

Oh yeah I've got Eagles on the brain haha.

Designed run plays for Cam, and the read option, make Cam especially deadly. I like Cam's pocket passing, but he sails a few to high now and then.

Can we quit comparing Cam to Luck, Kaep, Wilson, and RG3 already?????

Carolina fans say that they don't care, but then these threads somehow always come up.

Hey man these fan discussion forums exist for things like this.

And I care.  I love Cam and know he's an immensely talented football player.  I want others to be able to see and appreciate that as well.

I want people at sports bars asking for the Panthers game to be put on TV when their local game is over.  I want people to want to see the Carolina Panthers and Cam Newton make incredible plays.

All QB's sail passes high, wide, and/or short on the regular, including Luck.

If they didn't, their passing percentages would be in the nineties.

One thing I've noticed watching other teams play, other teams just don't attack the ball like we do on D.  That Colts' conversion right there wouldn't have gone for more than 5 yards against our D.  Kuechly and TD would've been all over that poo.  Other defenses allow the receiver to catch the ball, stand their ground, then tackle once the receiver gets to them.  Our D just plain attacks the ball.

Geesh, there's a game on, and it's the only one on the TV at the moment.

What do some people expect? Lol

I'm just pointing out an area where Cam can improve, and I'm sure he is working on it. RR points it out as well. Sure Luck sails passes as well.

Then learn how to appreciate Luck, Kaep, Wilson, RG3, etc as well. Maybe you should be one of those people at the sports bars asking for Colts game to be on tv (which they are anyways).

This^^^^

Andrew Luck is the Dale Earnhardt Jr of football.

Eli Manning is the Dale Earnhardt Jr of football. Both in their 30s (age 33, 39). Junior won two Daytona 500s, Eli won two Super Bowl MVPs...neither of the two would be as respected if it wasn't for the achievements of their family members that came before them

Andrew Luck (age 25) would be like NASCAR's Joey Logano (age 24). Both young hot shot starlings with their whole careers ahead of them

    • Yes, more recently. The way duke fans act you'd think they'd won five of the last ten or something crazy when they've actually won zero if the last ten. They haven't even even played in a championship ship game in the last decade. Carolina has played in three. For all the elite NBA talent that has come through Durham, duke is in a woeful championship drought. Duke fans used to talk all kinds of poo about how Carolina failed to win titles with Stackhouse/Wallace and Carter/Jamison and honestly they had a point. We should've gotten a title or two out of those teams. But man, duke's current run of elite talent with no titles puts that to shame.
    • LOL, what? No one has said anything close to that.
    • In response to mailbag questions about drafting a center from Observer, Zietlow gives this infO  From Alex The Panthers, after all, aren’t going to be as stacked with interior offensive linemen who can be converted into centers as they were last year. Cade Mays is already gone to Detroit. Austin Corbett moved on to Buffalo. Brady Christensen might still come back, but his future is murky too … and he ruptured his Achilles five months ago.   Keylan Rutledge. The guard out of Georgia Tech has received high marks in the pre-draft process, and if he drops to the Panthers at No. 51 somehow, they should take him. He worked at guard and center during the 2026 Senior Bowl.   Jake Slaughter. The 6-foot-5, 303-pound center out of Florida really impressed at the NFL Scouting Combine in February, notably with a 5.1-second 40-yard dash time. He’s a center by trade, and coach Dave Canales likes athletic centers who can get to the second level of the defense. Slaughter is projected to be a third- or fourth-round pick.   Billy Schrauth. Another draft, another Notre Dame draft pick?At least, it’s possible with Schrauth, the 6-foot-5, 310-pound interior offensive lineman and team captain. He spent most of his college career at guard, but reports indicate a transition to center would be easy for him. He’s projected to be a Day 3 pick.
