iPhone 6

Anybody pick up the new iPhone 6 or 6 plus today?  I went to my local Verizon store as soon as they opened and only had 9 people ahead of me.  Got a 16 GB iPhone 6 for free with trading in my old one and a 2 year contract.  I looked at the iPhone 6 Plus, but thought that was a little bit too large.  I'm very satisfied with the size of the 6.  I can't see myself upgrading for a long time something else comes along and wows me.

I'm curious how the extra size changes the feel of the phone?  Size wise, it looks about the same as my LG G2, but I have .5" more screen due to the "iconic" bezels (or whatever it's called at the ends of the iphone).  What do you think about the way it handles?

My wife is  not happy they made it bigger.  Her 5s in her otterbox is already getting on the big side for her small hands.  The fact that they went even bigger while maintaining iphone proportions...kind of puzzling.

I hope you enjoy your new phone!  I'm a technology nerd, so I'm always interested in new stuff.  I try not to let my android-ism make me a d-bag...

Bro they upgrade every year. Trust me you will be in that same line next year when they have the iPhone 7.

Nah, can't upgrade for two years and I'm never going to pay full retail for a phone.

I think it handles just fine. I can still easily use it one-handed. The 6+ however, was just too big, and I can't imagine carrying it around in my pocket.

We looked at them yesterday at the Apple store in Raleigh.

I have a Droid Maxx and the iPhone 6 is slightly smaller (the screen) than my Maxx while the iPhone 6+ is slightly larger.

They are much more comparable to my phone and the Galaxy S4 & S5 in size than the Galaxy Note or other Phablets imo.

I was surprised that Apple kept the bezel on both the same proportions as the 5S.  It looks odd to me... there's a lot more bezel on it than on other phones of similar size.

Both are very thin, probably half the thickness of my Maxx. If the battery life and processor performance are what Apple is claiming, they should be very nice phones, but nothing revolutionary except for the fact that Apple finally decided that they needed phones with bigger screens to stay current.

I am surprised that they didn't offer a new phone (some version of the 6) that is the same size as the 5 & 5s as I know a lot of people like that size for some reason.

    • I mean, in theory Bryce could get over the hump. That aside, you have to know that due to the situation we are going to give him another year. From some perspectives, it just makes sense. I'm not saying that I agree or disagree with it, but it's not like the draft is chock full of franchise QBs. I'm thinking that only one, the consensus top pick, is destined to be the only one in this draft (and some people don't believe in him). All we can do is sure up the room with an FA (Pickett) and take a swing or two and hope (maybe the dawg Pavia). 2027 should bring better options if it comes to that.
    • Let's be honest here. We have one WR on this team that would be in the top 3 of ANY other team. And he was a rookie last year. I love Coker but he is an often injured UDFA. He wouldn't have even gotten a chance on other teams. The rookie injury would have bounced him around the league for the next 5 years until he stopped trying to make a roster. It's a numbers game for most teams and he would have (at best) been on some team's practice squad. But Carolina has been so devoid of talent at the position, that we didn't have much of a choice. Bryce leaves a lot of questions but to say he hasn't elevated anyone isn't true. No WR has left Carolina since he's started and did better on another team. Not one. And there are several to choose from. Coincidence? Maybe. Probably not.
