He did about as well as he could.  He's obviously banged up and it's effecting him.  Shula's play calling isn't giving him or the offense in general much of a chance.  The man calls plays like he has an all-time great OL.  He doesn't seem to understand that the ball needs to be coming out pretty much immediately for us to have success.  When he dials up quick hitters, we look great.  When he goes back to his typical slow developing crap, the wheels fall off.

There were A LOT of plays where last year he would've gotten away from the sack and got a completion or scrambled for yardage, instead tonight he was very hesitant, didn't recognize a sack coming and didn't move well, taking really bad sacks. The line sucked but it was manageable and if he were 100% physically and mentally our offense wouldn't have been nearly that bad.

Did he also tell him not to step out of the pocket to avoid a sack? He could've done that numerous times without taking off and either thrown it away or found a guy downfield. Cam was hesitant to even move a foot in the pocket and it got him sacked.

2 of the 3 sacks were pressure right up the middle. They were really hard to avoid even with cam at 100%.

    • My take on Darnold was always that he was fine with a good offensive line but would wilt under pressure with a poor line (Jets and Panthers). Seattle began the year w/ a pretty bad oline and they improved somewhat but Darnold is showing he is a pretty good qb. Imagine what the Panthers would be today with Darnold and without Bryce Young and all the wasted draft picks to get him.
    • Similar situation but that would be a better version than what we currently have. Sam isn't a franchise QB but he is a good bridge guy. Either Seatle finds a young guy to groom or they have hit their ceiling. They 100% can't put it on Sam's shoulders and expect to win but the team needs to carry less with him at QB to win vs what this team has to do with Bryce.
    • to me the post would suggest Sam Darnold was good last night because Seattle won in a wild game.   Which is what we do with Bryce Young.   Sam Darnold didn't play well last night.  Which is how he trends, goes to a new team.....looks okay and becomes classic Sam Darnold down the stretch.  Last 6 or 7 weeks old bad Sam is coming out a lot (and then a weird Atlanta game mixed in lol).
