Instead of a foregone conclusion there needs to be a rethinking.

CJ is playing hurt, TD has been hurt, Luke has a gimp hand and our secondary is a shell of what it was last year. Those have been our biggest problems.

1. CJ isn't the player that Hardy is plain and simple. Hardy is more versatile more athletic and more of a leader then big money not to mention the fact he is younger.

2. TD is hurt but how long do you expect top level TD? He's past 30 he isn't a reliable core player in the future. We really need to be looking for his replacement not losing Greg in the process as well. GREG is young enough to be a core player on this team and a foundation to a great defense. TD isn't.

3. Luke is a great player but he is made ineffective with a weak Dline.

Again on the positional value chart pass rushers rate higher then MLB as a need for a team.

Luke is a major factor but so is Greg and we need them both to have a dominant defense.

Great example.

How has Tampa look since DE Michael Bennett went to the Seahawks?

Issue with Greg is he commands near top dollar.....yet you can't trust his decision making off the field. So he is a much riskier player than all of your other big paydays.

Do you want to take extra risk with big paydays? We already are suffering the consequences under a tag year

Ok I am lost on the whole exempt list thing. My question is simple, after he has been out for 6 games, can we bring him back if we wanted to or is it up to the NFL since he wasnt really "suspended"? Does the same 6 game rule apply if he is put on the exempt list?!

I'm pretty sure it is now up to Goodell, not the team. I might be wrong.

But a suspension that can only be lifted by the commish that is indefinite seems pretty fuged up to me.

Luckily for us, he pulled this crap during a franchise tag year.  He's not gonna be able to get a longterm deal that doesn't have some team-friendly termination clauses anywhere.  So we might be able to get him longterm without too much long-term cap risk.  It will still be quite an investment though.

A player of Greg's talent and importance to this team is worth the risk and atleast 20 teams will think so. Why not the team that developed him.

Again his bad decision consist of speeding and choosing the wrong females to hang out with. Common for young talented and rich people in the spot life.

Again, two things:

The verdict

Can we still resign Cam and Luke if we give Hardy a big contract

If we can say "not guilty" and "yes" to those two questions than I am all for it

Every team has more then 3 high dollar players on the roster.

Look at the cap Cam and Luke will command.

Then look at the cap space Hardy will command. We still have to field a competitive team. Can only pay so many superstars. You can't have but so many. I don't think Greg is with the risk.....not when you factor all the other star players we will soon be inking. We still need he cap to fill it with solid roleplayers.

Before his current situation, it as always clear Hardy has some screws less and is odd. A risk.

You can't have superstars all over your roster. Not on 2nd year deals. I think Hardy is one we have to let walk.

Plus we need to focus on bulding a more complete defense....if you don't injury makes you go from great to bad overnight if it hits your one slanted strength
