It can stream any of your content to phone, tablets, pc, etc...and now even the xbox one and soon 360.

Plex has been around for a while although I completely agree with G5. It is the best thing since I realized when I die I will be able to get with 100 virgins.

yeah it's been out a while. works great on roku. Good program once you figure out the kinks in their media server program.

I need a NAS for home now.  I've got some ripping to do.  Any suggestions for good rip program?  Fab decrypter?  And what settings do you use for making files.  Been a while since I've done it.

tbh once I figured out how to use windows media center I stopped ripping DVDs and downloading torrents.

I used DVD Decrypter back then, but I believe its technology would be obsolete by now (last update was probably a decade ago).

I don't remember the exact settings at all. I remember it was about the time the first ipod with video capabilities came put I found some tutorials on how to rip DVDs straight to mp4.

eta: the thing I like about plex is that it will play just about any file whether you have the right codec or not.

Been using it for years. Replaced all streaming video services.

For people that were upset with Xbox one not streaming movies like the 360 could...this bridges that and doesn't have all the codec nuttiness.

I use plex for all streaming options, access anytime anywhere with any of my devices...awesome...been using for about 5 years now
