I mean cemented around the league.

I like Wesseling, Rosenthal, and Harrison. They usually tell it how it is.

Cam is regarded as a Top 5 QB by some. But most still don't put him up there with Rodgers, Brees, Brady, and Manning.

 

Most of the others unfortunately have agendas, either it be their own credibility they're still protecting (because they badly got cam wrong at draft time, or during his fake not so sophomore slump season) or a network image or so forth.

I work with a Bears fan, a few Ravens fans, Bills fan, Cowboys fan, and a Niners fan. All of them think Russel Wilson is better than Cam.

Whenever I say Cam is great, they reference his "immaturity". You know, that "immaturity" that disappeared his rookie year.

The Ravens fan thinks Joe Flacco is a better QB than Cam Newton.

Laughing is the correct response to all of those. Russel Wilson is not a better QB then Cam, and he's positively not a better football player. That discussion isn't even close, Luck and Cam would be 1a/1b with Wilson being a way far beyond 2nd option among young QB's. 

 

Flacco gets hot often, but if he's not hot and throwing darts....It's complete duds.

The media will have to respect Newton after this year. They can't make excuses, brush it off, or give his credit to teammates.

They spent nearly 9 months blasting Cam & saying how shitty the team was & how he would struggle. All offseason....

"Cam's Defense carried him & they're weaker"

Yet here's Cam, recovering from all these injuries & playing with that shitty o-line bum RBs & WRs, AND a bottom 5 defense, yet he's balling out like an ELITE QB & looks better than he ever has & is carrying his team. Sunday looked like an Auburn game. Cam is a beast.

Media bashing has finally backfired. They HAVE TO give him props. He's gonna be an MVP candidate because of how terrible his team is perceived to be. Thanks media.

Your right they don't have too, but not saying anything about it makes them look silly and stupid. Also Cam did get some slight, very slight MVP love from the networks last season as well.

Cam is underrated, never gets the benefit of the doubt, has exceeded expectations, and has earned everything.  Luck is overrated, always gets the benefit of the doubt, has met expectations, but was already anointed as the best ever.

 

That's the difference... in reality it's a close call.  I'm taking Cam all day every day.
