Doubt inside BofA Cam is the future?

lmao you can't be serious

well this is what our source on the field says

Fast forward to the fourth quarter when Cam Newton, under heavy pressure, is forced to wait for four entire seconds while his receivers run long, slow developing ineffective routes. Routes that the defensive players were actually running for them.  The result? A feeding frenzy for the Saints defense featuring Cam Newton as the main course.

his name is Jeremy Igo. Dont pay attention to unnamed sources. Show us ya football knowledge

I have a feeling there will be talks and "reports" along these lines as long as we're continuing to flounder this season.

This is what happens when we lose. Jeremy discussed this. It's bullshit.

Cam was off from the get go thursday. But he had no chance to get into a groove.

In some ways I DO want to see Derek Anderson get in, not because he is the future, or even that he is better than Cam.

But it will show whether it truly is Cam or if people are nitpicking.  Cam by no means had a good game.

But people truly need to understand besides the blame that he himself shares.

He has ZERO proven O-Line besides Kalil

Our Running Game is Insufficient *see above

Our best WR is a Rookie, who lately has the tendency to drop the big ones.(not including the beast that is Olsen)

Lastly in the majority of these games we have allowed 30+ points. A Defense is licking their chops against this OL when they know you are in a passing situation.

Let's suppose this was actually true. I would like for someone to make a compelling case for letting Cam go and looking elsewhere at quarterback. How do you make that happen? Don't pick up his 5th year option and just let him walk after this season? Fine, great, who exactly are we getting to replace him? Start all over YET AGAIN with JAMEIS F'ING WINSTON? Does that sound like an intelligent plan?

Or hey, maybe we could sign a free agent QB better than Cam? Hey, let's take a look at those options:

Does 34-year-old Carson Palmer do anything for you? Or better yet, look at who the #2 option is...MATT GODDAMN MOORE.

Maybe we could just let Derek Anderson play quarterback next year? That sound like a good idea to anyone?

So tell me Cam haters and anonymous Panthers front office guy, just exactly how are you supposed to upgrade over Cam Newton? Please tell me because I would love to hear this brilliant idea.

    • Strongly disagree with the premise here. Without getting too into it, the biggest gripe for many has always been his footwork and pocket presence.  Shallow drops, happy feet, bad awareness - his overall technique is highly unconventional and not beneficial to his size/frame.  His upper body gets mad out of sync with his lower, drops back parallel to the LOS, erratic behavior. When you take that to the NFL level, you get swallowed up. And he got shellshocked and started bailing way too soon on plays. Unnecessary throwaways when he should step UP into the pocket and hit.   He got away with it in school because sooo much of his work was out of structure or quick hits to Jamo.  He was able to not bail early and stick in the pocket this last game. He also was dropping deeper than he usually does to create sight lanes. He can’t really outrun DLs so he needs to create that space via drop to survey properly. When he does these bs skip hops in the gun, he barely drops and is flooded. He needs to stay active with his feet but learn to step into the pocket more.  His average arm when he’s not doing this right turns Pennington esque.
    • Theilen is about to retire. I dont care about him sticking around. Lets say you did and he retires at the end of the year. Now that connection is gone next year and it's just another excuse for regression that was just held off.
    • Short term is the key point. Those first two games without him where pretty bad. They still aren't back to where they were offensively but they are getting better. Hopefully Tet continues to improve and Coker eventually returns - and stays healthy.
