Anyone have LPR?

So I was diagnosed with this sh*t today at the ENT--official name: Laryngopharyngeal Reflux.

Apparently I need to avoid alcohol, coffee, red meat, eggs, and cheese to name a few things for quite a bit.  I don't think I'll be able to do it haha. Anyone have to take sh*t they love out of their diet for medical purposes?

Never had that as a diagnosis but I have had a couple stomach ulcers in the past and the things I had to avoid were basically the same as what they told you. I didn't avoid them completely but mindfully cut back and took medicine. Eventually things got better but I am sure it would have healed quicker had I cut out the things they said.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking.  Cut down on it but don't take it out all together and it's not a permanent deal.  Apparently though I'm going to need to really watch it now because I also have Crohns Disease.

The stuff that I just refuse to quit though is thai food, porterhouses, red wine, and beer haha

I am very familiar with Crohns. Terrible disease, Forget LPR, you need to watch what you eat because of that.

I've had it for about 7 years but my GE confirmed it pretty much slid into remission about 2 years back.  Occasionally get ab cramp flare ups but nothing ever that bad anymore which is good.

How much do you weigh and are your pants tight? I was at about a 38 inch waist and was diagnosed with GERD and mild Barrett's Esophagus, which scared the poo out of me because it's pre-cancerous. I got on a PPI and got in shape. I'm at a 33 inch waist now, my clothes fit, and my stress level dropped and on the follow up endoscopies, they couldn't find any trace of Barrett's and my GERD has subsided. I eat red meat occasionally, drink a good bit of red wine and beer and I'm fine other than a rare case of indigestion if I gorge myself or drink way too much. I was able to wean myself off of my medication and I feel great now. For me it was getting in shape, and eating less at each meal. I found eating less rice and bread helps me a lot as well. Good luck! Stomach and esophageal issues can be scary stuff.

That is essentially my food pyramid.

Seriously though, glad you got a diagnosis are trying to deal with it.  I dont have restrictions like this but when I am trying to avoid food and bad habits I try to plan my work day so I dont even have time to go grab something.  Eat a couple of snacks in the middle of the day, (nuts, I would say cheese but its off the list so maybe a bar or fruit).

Hope you transition OK.

    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
    • Best part is if we draft him, we can also use him as our fourth and one QB sneaker
