Anyone Else Catch The Aftermath Of The Ninth Sack?

As fans we all want and the Panthers to be successful. And we can assume his team mates would feel the same way of course. There is something that on the surface you just want to like about him as a fan.

But I will be frank. This goes all the way back to the first days of training camp. Cam is simply an attention hound. Every day when fans and media were there to watch he constantly ran, skipped and jumped 4 steps behind all the other players. And no, this was not because of his bum ankle. He can't stand the possibility of being lost in the crowd. He screams "LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME" in everything he does.

Another example of this came across loud an clear in the game he did not play. His actions on the sidelines were explained as being exuberant for his teams success. I think it could better be explained as he couldn't stand that he was not the star at the moment. es knew exactly what he was doing when he ran out on the field to join the huddle dressed in his street clothes.

So imagine you were a team mate around these antics day in and day out. When your winning, Cam's personality is easy to deal with. When your losing not so much. I could see how it would be Cam losing his team mates best efforts. This, coupled with his obvious gimpy injuries, is a reason to bench him right now.

The towel head hanging losses he had the first few years were a concern about his leadership early on. He took the losses then as his personnal responsibility. The losses the last few weeks have been different. You can really see the disconnect between him and his team mates.

You think because the team is struggling you can find safe haven for this type of pseudologic? GTFO.

Wait a minute, Bell is left handed he will be natural at left tackle. That was Ron Rivera's assesment.

At some point you have to laugh at this poo. GM gets the players, I want a HC that don't accept bullshit that's given to him. Not just be a yes man with a blank stare and say Bell is good, we're going to move him to his "natural" side because he was born to be left handed from God. Please just get the fug out

Its not Bell's fault that he sucks, its Rivera's fault for putting people that suck on this team and then blaming them for sucking.

Rivera doesn't "blame them for sucking".

He defends them for "doing the best they can".

And that's a big reason, arguably the biggest reason, why we are where we are now.

Rivera was one of Byron Bell's biggest advocates.  He still is.

He also talked glowingly about how hard Sione Fua was working last year and was a big fan of Charles Godfrey.

He doesn't know how to evaluate players.

Reminds me of John Fox and his underperforming veterans.

How many of the people who think should Cam should play nice with the bunch of no talent bums who are getting paid to end his career prematurely miss having Steve Smith on the team?  I ask because Steve Smith would be the one guy to get in a teammates face and call them out if they weren't doing their job.  Personally, I think we need more of that kind of thing on this team and less kumbaya singing about how we are all in this together.

Fox is part of the reason we have the RB situation we have today.  He refused to play Deangelo over Foster, even though Foster was clearly done, so the front office thought Deangelo was a bust and drafted Stewart.  Then, once we got rid of Foster, we all fouind out that Deangelo was actually a good back, but unfortunately it was too late and we have been stuck with 2 backs ever since.

I get it but he shouldn't have done that.

Before I get flamed I know he's taking an absolute beating so I get it. This season is officially over

I support what he did! Some QB will chew out your ear in anger. Cam will give you the silent treatment that eats your soul out. What he did was perfect. That beating he took was not fair at all. I feel bad for the kid.

I think this is the first time I've ever outright disliked a Panthers team. We could keep around 10 or so guys going into next year and I would be cool with it.

yeah, I really thought we would be a better team than this. I turned the game off at 24-7...First time I have done that in years and so soon in the game.

I thought my life was depressing until I watched a Panther game.

    • Derrick Brown was one player I never called or even suggested was a bust . Dude was young and hadn't even hit his stride. It takes time to learn the position. The thing I appreciated about him is that he kept improving season after season. He got paid and keeps on going like the Energizer Bunny.
    • How many teams coddle their QB the way Bryce has been coddled? I have never seen any other team in the NFL EVER baby a QB the way that Bryce has been.  Bryce was named day 1 starter his first year. It was obvious he didnt deserve it. He wasnt ready as evidenced by the worst rookie year in NFL history.  So let's move to year 2. He's named starter again with no competition in TC and is benched 2 games later. We have the ghost of a backup in Dalton who is so bad he can only beat Vegas and let's remember, the only reason he lost his starting job was a car accident, not because Bryce actually beat him out in practice.  And year 3. We sign Dalton again, who already proved he couldn't be depended on to put an even remotely passable performance on the field, and bring back Jack Plummer, who was even worse than last year. It was obvious he was nothing more than a pretend body in an attempt to create an illusion of some type of attempt to find a backup.  Then we start again with garbage play again and Bryce gets benched with a phantom injury, and the ghost of the ghost of Dalton breaks his thumb on the first drive and craps the field all over again. If we had actually made an attempt to find a legitimate QB2, it's possible Bryce doesn't step on the field again. Bryce is not agood QB and if we had any other mediocre QB, our record would be the same or better.  Bryce is not entrenched. He's been placed, protected and sheltered from ever having to face a  real QB competition in TC. Richardson and Levis both were ass and both were benched and eventually replaced.  Do I expect Baker to face competition in camp? Sure. I expect Tampa to find the best QB2 they can at price that fits their cap and resources and system and get him up to speed. If he's better than Baker, and if he's better by a significant margin, that's best for the team. The ultimate goal is a Super Bowl. Bellichek was constantly getting QB2s with the GOAT as his starter. He knew the value and that was realized when Cassell led them to an 11-5 record as a backup.  You and I may think differently than the people that matter but I will say it again. If you're afraid to bring in a capable backup, especially after the debacle of last year. The starting role wasn't earned, it was given, and that's loser mentality.
    • I would have done the same thing.  LSU is a much better job than Ole Miss.  Plus the enormous contract and every advantage a college team can offer in terms of recruiting and facilities and tradition etc
