We're not going to the playoffs

This has been a strange season.  We have finished strong every year under Rivera.  Why not us.  

 

Mountainous climb no doubt but not impossible.  Atlanta lost already and New Orleans has a tough one tomorrow night.

 

We most of our injured players back. 

 

I hope we do.  I keep believing. Why be a fan if you cannot dream of a comeback.

Honestly I'd rather have a top 5 pick every round in the next draft than to be your senseless NFC south champ consolation piñata that gets sacrificed in the wild card round

What the fug is the point of making the playoffs when it's clear we'll get shredded even if we're that "lucky"? Everybody knows the NFC South is a joke anyway, winning it at like 5-10-1 or whatever just to stick it to our rivals is a pyrrhic victory.

I just can't force myself to look to next season for hope, until it's absolutely lost this season.

I don't get how people wouldn't want us to win out, see success for this team, finish the season strong. What if we get in and draw the Eagles? I think we could win that game, there's so much mediocrity this year you never know what could happen when you get in.

Nobody is looking dominant right now besides NE and maybe GB and Denver.

Honestly, there are probably a lot of people who'd rather have the high draft pick than what they'd consider meaningless wins.  Many just probably wouldn't want to admit it.  And objectively speaking, it's probably a better outcome in the long run.

 

Me though?  I just can't cheer for or hope for my team to lose.  It's just not in me.

As mentioned before,can't speak for others, but the basic thinking is that  even if we do make the playoffs we'll just get creamed and people would rather have better draft position than a largely meaningless division title.

 

That, plus many fear the coaching staff will do just enough to save their jobs when they rightly should be fired.

Optimism is great, but let's be realistic for a second.. you think that the Panthers, who can't seem to get out of their own way, are going to magically pull it all together and win their last 5 games... sorry bro, I love my team, but I also know impossible when I see it.

Just last week there was a sizable contingent of posters claiming they didn't want the team to win out because it'd allow Rivera to keep his job. The argument was something along the lines of "Rivera only knows how to win when the season is lost."
