Mc Nabb & Favre play in a WCO, Jake does not. He is a downfield passer which in and of itself leads to less accuracy, and no I don't think he's anything but average accuracy wise anyway. The fact that a downfield passer with average accuracy is still better comp % wise over his starting career than McNabb is as a WCO QB tells me a lot.

My only point with Favre is even though he's had some bad years lately he is STILL more accurate than McNabb completion % wise.

Non WCO QBs will likely always have worse comp %s than WCO QBs (except the ones one would call elite like Brady or Manning).

The fact that Jake does not take care of the ball negates that argument, IMO.

Yeah, I think that goes along with removing the "who is going to react how" aspect. If you consider that, then the variables make it almost impossible to predict(which of course we all know that plugging in ANY other QB would introduce innumerable variables).

At it's core it's basically sparking debate and forcing you to defend your opinions of your own QB vs. another QB.

Yeah, like I said, very fun game to play. I think it would be a lot of fun to see multiple fan bases do this. I think a lot of people would be surprised to see how many fans hate their QB that some Panther fans in turn just gush over.

I live in westren PA, Steeler country. Big Ben has won them two Super Bowls in the last four years. And I would say half of the fan base up here would like to see him traded, no joke. On the other hand, I think Big Ben would be the best fit as the Panthers starting QB. Just goes to show you how fickle fans are...

Yeah, it was interesting to see how my buddy ranked the Bucs QB. Other the uber-popular QB's, I think that most fanbases ultimately have some issue or another with their starting QB. That's just the nature of the position.

Some pretty big misconceptions active in this thread.

People think you can take any QB out of a system that's been built around him and just drop him into a thoroughly different system without missing a beat. It's a million times more complex than that, and it's why some guys thrive in certain systems but not in others. If you think the offensive scheme and style don't matter, you're dreaming.

Lack of understanding on this is a big reason why so many casual fans have the misconception that you could just plug Michael Vick into the Panthers offense and he'd master everything from day one. Especially laughable considering the annual excuse apologists gave that it took three (then four, then five, etc) years to truly master the West Coast offense.

I'd add that the notion of taking a rookie quarterback who's yet to show he can even play in the NFL over a longstanding veteran who still has something in the tank is ludicrous. There's no guarantee guys like Stafford or Sanchez won't turn into the latest Ryan Leaf or Tim Couch.

I N/Aed all rookie QBs. Not really fair to make a judgment on them when we've never seen exactly what they can do in the regular season.
