Rookie Wide Receiver Update

Perhaps you've heard of this guy named Philly.

Philly Brown is not in that class. He is a smallish, injury prone, atypical NFL WR.  I don't know why people keep propping him up like he's the next Victor Cruz or something.  He was a good pick-up considering our situation at the position, but D-Jax he is not.

He is more of a role type player.  I think that he could do decently with KB and another legit threat on the field, but let's not compare him to the big boys of his draft class.

Watkins has been getting covered by the number 1 corner since week 1 and was getting thrown to by EJ and Kyle Orton. The fact that he has 800 yards is a miracle all in its self

OBJ has been covered by teams #1 Corner too. Not really sure what your point is? OBJ a better route runner, hands catcher, more explosive and better at the catch point.

OBJ hasn't been covered by the number until recently and he's getting thrown to by a multiple pro bowl QB, He's also getting forced fed by Eli.

And Watkins has better hands, is faster, more explosive and is a yac monster

    • 31st rushing D and 8 carries by Rico is coaching.  Rico is easily the best offensive weapon right now and it’s not really close.  *literally everyone knows Dalton is washed, horrible and shouldn’t even be a backup QB.   Drive 1? ZERO carries.  Coaching.  Drive 2 - Rico was playing great.   Did Canales lean into that or go for “balance”? Coaching. Drive 3 - ZERO carries.  Coaching  Drive 4 - 1 carry and opted for Jimmy Horn gadget rush (you can’t stick  with the Horn repetitive gadget runs each week and that’s not a better idea than getting Rico going)  Drive 5 - basically Dalton heavy as the half expired.  I don’t need to watch a game to know it’s coaching.  The gameplan wasn’t about setting Rico up to go off on a trash rush D.  It was bullshit harmony balance of the rush and the pass and making Hubbard feel good.
    • In the locker room after the Dallas game, multiple  players said FEED him when Canales mentioned Rico stats. That already made me think even the locker room wouldn't care if Rico got the touches rn. This is on Canales indeed and I agree n the Qb take.  We aren't winning  bc of Bryce  but he has been managing it. Had the Jets had Qb aptitude,  we could've probably  lost that game too. All they would've needed is 14 points. Regardless, we got a team  that's being built up and that position needs an overhaul.
    • I think he was trying to mimic the Lions with Montgomery and Gibbs. They are just more of the exception to the rule and Brooks was too much of a gamble to be a Gibbs type player. The Lions also didn’t sign Montgomery and draft Gibbs until their offense was nearly set. It was more of a luxury take the offense to the next level type of deal.
