I think he would have came out without any injuries if he was in an SUV, tbh. That truck doesn't have window airbags. And I don't think an Escalade, Tahoe, or Range Rover would have flipped like that.

keep in mind people as large as Cam is cant sit comfortably in all vehicles without modification.  The truck was probably comfortable for him to drive.

As far as this particular accident, he would have been better off in a Sedan.  SUV's and Trucks have a high center of gravity and are far more likely to flip or roll.
