Hornets Losing Fans because of T-Shirts

Garner clearly resisted. It's on video. Refusing to put your arms behind your back and shouting 'leave me alone' is resisting.

Here's what happens when cops don't use deadly force:

fact that he resisted, isn't the problem. You would have too in his shoes. It's the NY cop that Broke NYPD procedures/rules by using any kind of neck hold/choke hold. I see no problem with the shirts though, especially in the Garner case.

It's not all of the problem but it is part of it. I would not have resisted if I were in his shoes. If police tell me I'm breaking the law and to leave an area, I'll gladly leave. If police tell me to put my hands up, I'll gladly comply- not yell "leave me alone" and walk around flailing my arms. Then again, I will never get arrested once, much less 30+ times like Eric Garner did.

Those officers should've ultimately been charged but Eric didn't do himself any favors.

Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening huddle. The players were just wearing T-shirts. With a meaning. We know this. But that damn shirt isn't going to do nothing but piss ppl off and more brutality and unpunished criminality by the overseers i mean officers.

So if wearing a shirt. With words of someone who was killed by thugs. What is the solution?

American Africans need to stop this civil rigbts crap. Just human rights. Chinese people dont fight for civil rights. The fight for Chinese rights and this goes for all nationalities. Black ppl in America are the only ones.

Dont mean to have a tiderbox post and not trying too. This country has some real racial issues that need to be put out there and discussed and fixed. Because it is going to get a lot worse. We need to get our country back from the criminals who run it.

There's a lot of people in the South that don't want anyone to speak up on anything. It's a culture that was built to maintain the status quo. I don't think those people that turned their back on the franchise were ever really on board.

As a 29 year old white dude I am fine with what the players did. They have a right to make a statement about important social issues. They also need to be prepared for the backlash. Freedom of speech is not free of consequence.

I agree. It reminds me of politics when people say, "now, I'm never going to support somebody because of this one thing they did", when you knew you would never support them regardless.

They are doing it in public, on their own time.

Players are doing it at work, while they are being paid.

There's a difference. Your right to "freedom of speech" does not include while you are at work.

Just a question but do we have fans that support the damn Klan?

I thought just about every nba team has worn an "I can't breathe" shirt.

I believe players have the right to express their opinion. As long as it's peaceful anyone should be able to protest whatever they choose. I personally believe the situation has escalated pretty bad with two cops being murdered.
