Anyone else checked out this show on Netflix?  Kind of like a technology driven new version of "Twilight Zone".  It's British and extremely well done.  Those Brits are on another level of quality of TV than the Americans, I have to say.  Check it out if you haven't.  I haven't watched a show that has made me go WOW in a long time.

I've been wanting to check it out, but don't like the fact it isn't serial and has new actors every episode. I like long story arcs. The UK definitely does good TV, but so do we: Fargo, The Americans, Breaking Bad, Homeland, Ray Donovan, Dexter, Battlestar Galactica, just to name a few.

I agree the US has some great TV, but one thing I've always liked about British shows is they don't drag on for a bunch of extra seasons after the show isn't good anymore.  Dexter is a prime example.  The first 2 seasons are amazing, and the 4th with Trinity is great.  But near the end it really got off the rails and there's a lot of shows like that where that's happened.  Most British shows are only 2-3 seasons and then it's over, and I like that.

Yep, been watching it since it came out years back. Favorite episode is "be right back" and "15 million merits"

My favorite was "The Entire History of You".  Really hit close to home because I've been saying that humans will have that capability very soon.  Who would really want to remember everything that has ever happened to them?  Too many painful memories...

True, some shows drag on. But I'd love to see a few more Sherlock seasons. I bet it's over with the next one though. Luther got cancelled WAY too fast. Utopia got axed as well. Plebs needs to stick around. I could've used another Inbetweeners season.

I know we have BBC America here, but I'd love to one day see all the BBC channels, ITV, and Channel 4 be available here on cable. Yes, I can watch them via Hola but it's not the same.

I think a big problem with American TV is that they don't think out the ending before the show even starts. So then they have to come up with some BS that makes sense. Like Heroes, 1 good season and I think the writer was caught off guard with the popularity, then scrambled to come up with S2....downhill after that and fast.

I think the idea that you need 20-24 episodes for network programming is what kills shows these days. There is so much filler that is just thrown together. The shorter seasons from cable networks (Breaking Bad, Justified, etc) allow the writers to get the point quickly.

IIRC, Lost only had 3 seasons of material from an early Abram's interview, but ABC wanted 5. Then it goes 6.

Luther is getting another season, was announced a couple weeks back.

BBC has some great tv and I really enjoy it.  I think the actors are better.   They are just trained better mostly.

Doctor Who obviously, Orphan Black, Peaky Blinders, The Fall, Broadchurch (don't waste time with American version that just got cancelled, Gracepoint), Sherlock, etc.  I'm not a Downton Abbey watcher but my wife is and I'll catch it sometimes and it seems to have good acting too for what it is.

Also, there's a French show called "The Returned" on netflix that is amazing, just use subtitles obviously.  Really freaky show.

I feel the camera work is different overseas and is less watered down.

It's just a two-part mini series to set up the movie, not a whole season. Then again, the Luther seasons were only 4-6 episodes anyway, lol.

    • I'm not a Bryce hater and I would 100% move on.  Especially looking at how the upcoming qb draft looks on paper.  Hopefully he continues to improve but if in 3 seasons you're still chasing average season numbers then he's not going to be the guy.  You've just got to keep taking swings until you hit.  Average qbs without any elite physical traits cant get it done anymore.  So this year Hopefully he continues to develop and is above average statistically.
    • Meltdowns???? He was pulled by Canales because he wasn't executing the game plan after 2 games into the season so he could watch Dalton execute the offense and show Bryce the windows available in the NFL, how to push the ball down the field and how to step up and move around when blitzed. When Young came back 5 games later he clearly watched and improved. Enough he was named the future starter. He doesn't have a history of  meltdowns nor is there any reason to assume he will have one. From what I have read he is mentally strong and emotional stable. He may have bad games down the road, everyone does. But this is all a learning experience for him and so far he seems to be making progress. I can understand being hesitant on anything Panthers, but Young has surprisingly been able to gain his confidence after a disastrous start. You aren't alone in being cautious but I think he is the future. I thought he was too small and too short to succeed in the NFL. Honestly I was pleasantly surprised last year and am optimistic about the offense for the first time since Wilks and Dalton were decent.
    • The Rams wanted to trade up for Williams who they ended up within the end. They even told him that when they called him to let him know he is the pick. The other teams are only an assumption. Like the Cowboys, who took a guard. The truth is the team wanted to trade down first and foremost but couldn't get an offer the were happy with. They took McMillan because they felt he was bpa at 8 plain and simple.
