NFL just laid out the policy. You get paid leave until the legal process is finished.

There is nothing to fight

Disagree that there is nothing to fight. Both he AND AP will have plenty to fight on. You are taking them away from their jobs with no ACTUAL legal recourse or reasoning, just based on suspicion/possibility. There are TONS of legal arguments to be made about sticking them in the corner for no reason when the maximum punishment outlined is already BEYOND served. This has and WILL cost both of them large sums of money on future contracts, it has cost them a sizeable chunk of their careers and that doesn't even begin to get into legacy, endorsements, etc etc.

Lots to fight, and those fights will happen. Don't think for a second the NFL is done wiping the egg off of its face from Ray Rice. Their over reactions will cost them. I also hope anyone accosted by the guy in San Fran, who has continually been ignored and gotten away with his assault claims but received ZERO punishment, goes after the league for helping to sweep his actions under the rug.

You also CANNOT make a rule and retroactively enforce it against people who were not governed by said rule at the time of their infractions. That is beyond unconstitutional. Whats to stop the league, or any other entity, from just creating rules long enough to fit them to someone, fire/punish them, then undo said policy at will. NFL is the biggest laughing stock in all of professional sports outside of Soccer and Russian/French figure skating judges.

Again, NFL policy is NOW clear. NFL will suspend guys WITH pay and they will sit until they have gone through the legal process with a DMV charge.

Paid leave isn't some crazy made up thing....that occurs all the time in all walks of life especially when people get caught with charges....from police, to teachers to you name it.

Unconstituional? LOL...why don't you stand up in your next meeting at work and start blurting out curses and saying controversial things. Your constitutional right of free speech doesn't mean their aren't consequences with your job. You can't say whatever the heck you want and not expect to be fired.

This is his job. They set the rules. He doesn't have a right to play. This man you are fussing over has it made....he isnt the victim you claim.

Even if he gets a not guilty verdict. I'm done with him and hope Carolina is too.

I think you guys forget... he's technically guilty and serving his sentence as we speak. an appeal is just that.. an appeal. you are still guilty until otherwise stated by a judge or Jury. the nfl should follow the decision of of the court. implement its punishment based off the original court verdict, and an appeal is a personal issue. if it's over turned then the defendant can sue Skene caused the issues but the NFL is protected. win win for everyone

Hardy could have accepted a 6 game ban and plead guilty and came back 10 weeks ago. He didn't.

He didn't because he didn't want to lose $4MM in game checks. He's happy to sit at home with $13MM then play for $9MM.

I'm the biggest Hardy dick-rider on this forum (no homo) and even I have accepted that he only cares about money, and will not be back on this team ever. Like never ever. Like Taylor Swift can start writing a Hardy-Panthers breakup song ever.

Sad thing is no one around Hardy has been intelligent enough to tell him that he will be losing a lot more money long term because of this strategy.

And you shoot yourself in the foot on your VERY FIRST sentence. ITS NOW clear.. the policy was NOT in place or clear THEN. You CANNOT retroactively enforce new rules and policy AFTER the fact in order to save face. Any lawyer worth a damn can and will win that case every day of the week. Hardy has, and is currently, being arbitrarily punished because the league is trying to save face in light of their epic fuhk up with Ray Rice. Just watch, Peterson certainly will bring this suit up and I'm betting Hardy will as well. I never said there were not consequences for your actions. But guilty before proven innocent, arbitrary and retroactive punishment that does not fit a crime, etc IS unconstitutional. It may be his job but these rules did not exist in this structure at that time and there was no precedent for the actions taken. The league has ZERO leg to stand on.

Maybe it wasn't clear....so? Employers can alter how they handle situations.

If the league had no let to stand on....and Hardy was a victim....You would be hearing from Hardy, his attorney and the NFLPA.

You don't. You hear crickets. You don't hear a peep from Hardy, his people or the NFLPA. So yeah....that says a lot.
