Cakewalk...

Last week I said this same thing and was condescendingly told "I didn't know fans played."

While obvious, it is idiotic to look past your next opponent. I saw and heard SO many Falcons fans wondering who their Wild Card opponent would be as if they didn't even have to face us...and look at what happened.

I say everyone needs to focus on this game, I've seen too much in the media about the inevitable upset (which normally sets your team up for failure.) but hey "we don't play."

do you think the overconfidence of ATL fans caused the falcons to get their poo stomped by us?

not only do we not play, we have absolutely zero impact on the game.

it does not matter, AT ALL, that we as fans are looking ahead to possible matchups.

2012: Seahawks 16, Panthers 12.

2013: Seahawks 12, Panthers 7.

2014: Seahawks 13, Panthers 9.

What a cakewalk huh? This team is much better than the October team that lost 13 - 9. Much better. How much better? The October Panthers lost to the Saints 28 - 10. The December Panthers beat the Saints 41- 10. It's all there for the taking. Cakewalk my ass.

Our defense matches up very well against their offense. We know how to stop lynch and don't give up that many big plays to them.

If we get past Arizona I'm optimistic we find a way to win at Seattle having them come off a bye

No, I clearly understand the way that the game is played. Otherwise I would have a contract myself.

If we have ZERO impact I'm not sure why it's such a big deal to go to Seattle dealing with a "12th man".

I never stated that their fans were the outcome of the game but in a sense overconfidence spreads, from the fanbase, to the media to the team.

And being IN Atlanta, being surrounded by their fans and having a few deeper connections, I think I could be the best source to tell you that people had zero respect for our team.

Keep looking ahead, it's cool to dream.  I'm just saying people can stop with the talk as if everything is a given.

i don't think ramblings on a a random message board are going to seep through the media and affect the team. agree to disagree i suppose, but it seems like a pretty big stretch. obviously crowd noise can impact a game, but that's not what we were talking about.

But truly don't take it as me saying. "Fans completely control or dictate the outcome."  I am more or less saying, don't get your panties in a bunch if you AS A FAN over look the next team and suffer disappointment.  Ultimately leading to a meltdown and mass overreaction on this board as WE ALL have seen.

i'm truly not taking it that way. you seem to have a more level-headed mindset on the matter compared with others, and my panties will be in a wad if we lose no matter what has transpired, but others seem to be legitimately worried about THE HUDDLE "overlooking" our opponents. i agree that looking ahead could lead to a greater letdown, but it's not something i worry about.

Messages board posts =\= crowd noise. That's why seattles 12th man means what it does. The way the stadium was designed mixing with crowd noise. Not because fans actually impact anything.
