You guys are confident, which you should be, your team is playing some great ball... I am totally getting my popcorn ready, as I think this game will hit the under 39.5 mark and be a 6 point game at the most... I think whoever wins this game will be the representative of the NFC in the Super Bowl.

Good luck gents... (Just not too much ;) )

The people on this board and in the Panthers locker room are the only people that believe we have any shot of winning. It's easy to be confident when you have nothing to lose. If we lose, no biggie because that is what is supposed to happen right? The pressure isn't on us because we've already overachieved in the eyes of fans and pundits. Nobody expected us to win every game in December, nobody expected us to blow out the Saints and Falcons at their house, nobody expected us to make the playoffs, very few expected us to beat the Cardinals, and nobody expects us to give you guys much of a fight. Panther fans know better......we can be a very strong team when we don't shoot ourselves in the foot. We know we can beat the Seahawks....when you go to bed Saturday night, you might be facing that reality as well.

Well thats good confidence to have... When the Seahawks were 3-3 in the start of the season, facing the hardest 10 game stretch of any team in the NFL, nobody expected the Seahawks to win the division, let alone get the number one seed. But we closed out the season at 9-1 with the only loss being a nail biter at arrowhead. These two teams had very similar season trajectories. Which is why I think it will be a hell of a game, and to be fair, you were pretty decent favorites to beat Arizona, which most did have you beating. So I wouldn't say very few expected that, but otherwise, solid points.

Work and the ex have been keeping me quite busy, but i've been lurkin' around. Good to see you are still reppin' Go Hawks

Hey!  Talk to us, not each other.  :phone:  This is like when my in laws call and get into an argument with each other over some detail from a story nobody cared about anyway.

Hoping for a good game, gents.

First thanks for showing up with a good OP. I was watching the sports reporters today. None of those idiots give us a chance. Most said we had a chance but with a bunch of sarcasm with it. I hope we win and and watch all those idiots eat crow.

The winner will be the team with the least mistakes. I think it will be a defensive battle. The only thing. Seattle has only 4 or 5 games worth of tape of the New and Improved Panthers. If they use week 8 tape they are going to be making some adjustments out the gate.

For sure, I agree. Which is why I wanted to watch just the recent Panther games for a realistic look of the team. You can also say the same with the Seahawks, we didn't get our cornerstone pieces back (Wagner, Chancellor) and get healthy until week 11. So both teams are playing with a limited sample size. However, good teams like the Panthers and Seahawks who have good coaching staffs are smart enough to understand this

I'm sure you guys know this, but Seattle doesn't disguise anything. We don't get cute with our schemes, we run very basic defensive fronts and coverages and come straight at you.

From what I see, Carolina is basically the same way, they throw a few stunts in there from time to time, but overall, they run about the same stuff no matter who they play.

Now if only someone could convince the aholes at seahawks.net to be more welcoming of panther guests...... that be great

Don't you dare suggest over there that we look forward to a good, competitive game since we have nothing to lose and they aren't the greatest thing since sliced bread.

So... where is all of this hospitality in the land of hipsters and starbucks?

The Seahawk fans on this board are way more respectful and insightful than the ones on Seahawks.net.

Not all of them are bad over there, but most of them would scold you if you told them the Panthers stood a chance.

To be fair, I live in the Northwest, most true Seahawk fans I know are very awesome and humble, just like the fans here. Any fan that has endured all the poo seasons that the Hawks have had have no right to be assholes. Sure, you can be confident, but you are mostly seeing a bunch of internet trolls that just want to be a dick. If you ever come to the land of starbucks, you will see we aren't that bad :)

That's good to hear. I've actually heard that fans at Century Link are pretty respectful compared to other fan bases.

Oh well, I guess you can't base a whole fanbase off of one forum.

I look forward to tomorrow night. Unfortunately, I have to work until 10 PM EST. So, I'm probably going to milk my last break as much as I can.

Whats up huddle, Thought I would just drop by a line, it's been a while.

I have always liked the Panthers, and this board has always been filled with some awesome fans that can have logical debates and always welcomed me. Needless to say, I was pulling for the rematch in one facet or another.

I absolutely LOVE this matchup, I think it will lead to some fantastic football.

You guys have probably dissected this game every which way, so I won't get too deep into it, I just love how these are probably the last two teams out there (maybe arizona if they had a capable QB) that still have this type of defense among the "sling it all around" type offenses that are predominant in todays game.

I was talking to a Dallas fan earlier in the week, and they said how "boring" the Seahawks brand of football is, and I completely disagree. I absolutely think the style of which our teams play football, defense especially is the most pure form of the game we all know and love. I watched the last 4 games that the Panthers have played, and the way you guys impose your will on other teams is fantastic to watch.

I study at the University of Oregon, there are bandwagon Oregon born Seahawks fans everywhere in Eugene, so this week has been fun. I'm from Charlotte originally so naturally I'm a Panthers fan. I'm really surprised at your level of humbleness compared to what I've dealt with in Eugene the past week. I want to hate you but you make it hard damn you! Go Panthers!post-9360-14208555254_thumb.jpg

Well, you live in Eugene.... which is bandwagon capitol of the USA. Duck fans drive me crazy. hahahaha. (no offense to you, just the majority are pretty horrid, good luck in the natty though) I'm in Portland, and you get some of that, when I lived in Seattle, it was much better, in my opinion, but thats kind of what you get when you move further out of the city a team is based in, you get less diehards and such.

    • Brian Baldinger on NFL Network (per Tim Weaver on Panthers Wire): "I feel like they're building a monster on that side of the ball right now and I think that's how they have to play," Baldinger stated. "They have to play like they can shut teams down this year. I think it's on them to really guide this team right now." https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2026/05/22/panthers-nfl-offseason-defense-brian-baldinger/90215555007/   So, do you believe him? Today, May 25, I do believe Baldy without any evidence otherwise. I think it's much more likely for our defense to take another marked leap (right into the top 10) than our, basically, bottom-third offense. In my mind, Lee Hunter is a literal and figurative huge addition up front, and right behind him is perhaps our biggest exclamation point on defense: Devin Lloyd. Lloyd's experience and track record of solid production should be the anchor of our defense that should help lift the floor of the entire unit. No more getting gashed on runs, eh? But, as important as Lloyd will be, the most prolific addition to the defense could be Jaelen Phillips.  In my opinion, whether or not the Panthers can demonstrably show that the defensive squad, and perhaps the team in general, is actually ready to assert itself as a perennial postseason presence lies within its ability to credibly rush passers. Phillips was paid handsomely to produce results. Now I know that most of you are probably thinking that sacks are the key. Moreover, I'm not one that is even going to tell you that his pressures are the key (you know, since Phillips's pressure rate has been highlighted over perhaps pedestrian sack numbers). The key, at least in my mind, will be the marked growth of Nic Scourton and/or Princely Umanmielen. I really do believe that they are the understated X factors that the "success" of our season may depend upon.  I'm not worried about the interior (perhaps over-optimistically so). I'm also not too concerned with our corners, as they are quietly one of the best duos in the league. Sure, the safety position has more question marks, Trevon Moering is an exclamation point, and Nick Scott, though less of an exclamation point, still has plenty of experience. With the infusion of youth, size, length and energy, I can see a good mix that will result in positives from the DBs once Ejiro Evero figures everything out. And, we should all know, a credible pass rush provides the defensive backfield with opportunities to shine, and this is but another reason why I believe that Scourton and maybe Umanmielen will be key to taking up residence in the postseason. On an off note, and as a reminder, if the defense is doing its job effectively maintaining momentum with field position, if not outright laying down the pathway with short fields and such, this should make it easier for Bryce Young and the offense to effect points on the board in terms of TDs. Where the defense goes, the offense will have every opportunity to follow.
    • Its gonna be loud as hell in Montreal tonight.  But don't make any big turnovers or defensive lapses and I like our chances.
    • Canes need to get one of these two away games. Would prefer both but get 1. Go back to Raleigh 2-2. Win that one. Then you only need one of the next two.     I saw a different level of focus I’ve never seen from the canes in ECF since 06.  Also, Montreal has been bad at home in the playoffs. Get on them early, win the game.
