It's not where you draft, it's who is drafting. Jaguars get a top pick every year, nothing changes. Same goes for Raiders, Browns, Texans, Bills, Redskins, etc.

How the hell are you supposed to progress as a franchise if you don't get any playoff experience? Well, we have got a dose of it 2 years straight. Hopefully it starts producing more playoff victories.

bLAH. bLAH!! As much effort as we put into not being sucky as a team we will be still be sucky until the team produces!! Tonight sucked.. it was a statement and we failed..we stilll suck.. so live up to it!!

What does this have to do with what he said?

It looks like you just want to blindly project your negative energy anywhere and everywhere.

Go somewhere else, troll.

That's like asking is it better to win the NIT or make it into the NCAA tournament. When you get a shot at the ring, you always take the shot. Early draft picks are simply the consolidation prize for losing and missing the playoffs.

shouldn't winning the SB get you a top 10 draft pick? Just sayin', reward the winner.

add the rams to that list.  they've had an absolute embarrassment of riches at the top of the draft and have done jack outside of fielding a tough defense.

all these crap teams have the high picks year after year but they always suck.  it's not a coincidence and drafting well isn't just a matter of putting on a blindfold and throwing a dart at mel kiper's big board.

If you would trade a division title and a playoff win for a slightly better draft position, fug you. These last six weeks were special and I'll take success over failure any day of the week.

I agree.  I was definitely very vocal about just playing for draft position and cleaning out the Rivera house.  I now understand how important getting Cam and the team their first playoff win, and playing a very competitive game on the road in Seattle against the champs was.  This experience was greater than a high draft pick and will mean more to Cam and the teams development than a high pick.

    • The pattern of what we've done before, during and after the trade and selection of Bryce points to Tepper being involved in his selection and continued presence as the unquestioned starter. Pickett sucked in Philly, he just didn't start. If he hadn't sucked, Pittsburg wouldn't have gotten rid of him as a 1st round QB. Grier is so bad we already cut him once. He offers zero upside. There were FA QBs available last season that we could have gotten over Dalton who actually outperformed Bryce. The bar is low, ridiculously low. But we keep adding people who have proven they are below that bar.  Bryce is a bottom tier QB. We should be actively looking to improve the roster. You can say virtually no QB3s and few QB2s could challenge Bryce. That's true. But it also means there may be some that can. We're not looking for those guys. We should be. They could definitely challenge a KP or Grier.  The goal is winning seasons and winning the division. Relying on the Falcons to win so you can get into the playoffs with a losing record in a weak division isn't a recipe for success.
    • Man oh man talk about getting it wrong coming And going. Have two viable arms and don’t stay the course so you draft a noodle arm that stands on his tippy toes to see, they make us go the full 5 years waiting for him to pan out.
    • I guess it's so we don't have to force a UDFA QB to be in serious consideration for QB3.  QB4 will be just a camp arm and maybe a stash on the PS if he looks half way decent. They will not bring in competition for Bryce if you haven't figured that out by now.  He's either going to sink or swim.  The next QB with a legit arm on this team will be when we move on from Bryce.  I think this is the ramifications from the Darnold/Mayfield debacle.
