So what does Gettleman do with Cam?

Actually id like Cam to take a Brady type of contract he just resigned to.

16 million a year with performance escalators but a bigger injury guarantee clause.

Brady did that so the year coming his cap figure dropped 8 million.

You cant have 1 guy making 1/4 of the salary cap if you want superbowls.

The seahawks will find that out. Right now ol Russell makes 650k. Watch what happens when its 25million.

If Gettleman can't keep Cam, I will hate him forever. You have to keep Cam at all costs. He is the lifeblood of this team. No question. Cam is this team.

Sigh,  This is the problem with most of you.  There was a team before Cam there will be a team after Cam.

Team before Cam: 2-14. Worst in the league. I'd rather not repeat that.

I'd rather have the team with Cam. Also, I hope you're not implying I joined because of Cam, because Cam was at Blinn Junior College when i joined the Huddle.

I think Cam had 2 problems this season - If you go back and look at his play when they werent letting him run he looked very good - once they " let cam be cam " He seemed to regressed as a passing quarterback.  I think we need to decide what we want Cam to do - concentrate on passing or jon what he did the last half of the season ( which I think is too much for him to process - at least at this stage of his career. )  The other thing that hampered Cam was all his injuries and not having the preseason ota s and etc to practice with his new receivers.  I also think Shula does not design plays to the strengths and weaknesses of his players very well.  If I was g man,  I would in conjunction with Rivera,  hire a new offensive staff and qb coach - exercise the option on Cam next year and see how he does under a new regime.  Other quarterbacks are able to flourish in new systems and if Cam is worth the money he is going to want,  he will have to be able to do likewise.

I wasn't aware the team only started one year before Cam got here.

I want to keep Newton, but a big money guaranteed contract is an awful idea at this point.

A fair deal will be offered.

If Cam says no, he gets tagged.

Then another fair deal, will be offered.

If he says no, he gets tagged.

I just hope Cam doesn't expect a mega deal that would cripple the team, a la Drew Brees.

Something team friendly that pays him fairly is ideal. We'll see how it works out.

somehow, i dont think Cam will turn down a fair deal so long as he knows this team is going to do what it takes to protect him and give him weapons to work with. he doesnt strike me as a heckler.
