Describe a receiving corps that would best suit Cam

Need someone who can get YAC. There currently is no receiver on the team with that ability, even Philly (who falls down immediately after making a catch).

im thinking they are taught to not expose the ball as much as possible.

its like shula tells them to just catch and fall down to get a 1st.

How about an OC, who can call a game a certain way, and design plays,  where receivers can be open mid, down field, thus running for YAC?

This entire discussion, involves the OC, Receiver and QB.

This is why, you see so many other receivers wide open so often. Many times it's the play calling, which fools the defense.

KB does this too. I gotta think it is a coaching thing...

sadly, it might be.

stewart was interviewed after the cleveland game and was asked if he was trying to score on his 30 yard run late in the fourth quarter to seal the game.

his answer was yes...he said he wasn't sure if he was supposed to or not, but he was trying to.

wtf is the only thing that went thru my mind.

WRs that can catch passes that hit their hands would be a great start.

The title says it all.  I'm not interested in seeing a hypothetical depth chart of specific players.  You can reference some if you want but I'm interested in seeing what traits at WR would work the best given Cam's play at QB.

The obvious: A large physical balanced receiver >6'2, good hands, blocker, doesn't give up on plays

Whatsayyou?

    • frank, that ball was very catchable where it hit his hands. I don't even think he bent at waist until after he dropped it. He actually slows his pace to position himself to catch the ball. That will never be a pass I'd blame on the QB.   NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-54-54.mp4
    • https://overthecap.com/position/left-guard   Lewis is the 9th highest paid Left Guard in the league. I bet it was higher when the deal was done two years ago.    https://overthecap.com/position/right-guard Hunt #3 highest Right Guard   There is a tab in the upper left portion of the graphic that allows looking at the different positions.
    • It was a great play, but a better catch than throw. The TE boxes out Moehrig for position. Jumps to catch the ball. Catches it and turns 180 degrees while he's still in the air. Comes down and toe taps to stay in bounds and lunges for the goal post. That first part where he boxes out Moehrig for the ball is huge. If he doesn't do that and simply fades back to catch the ball (this is why Bryce doesn't trust XL), then Moehrig likely undercuts the pass for a break up or INT. Stafford trusts his receivers to make plays for him. Here I slowed it down so you can see it. Great play but amazing catch and score by the TE.  NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-45-32.mp4 NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-44-37.mp4
