Hardy's Heart is in Carolina

What if all our best players got pointed at for something off field and they were in his position... do we let them go too? Do we only let people here who are perfect conservative angels? Do we need to recruit some soccer players? Tennis?

I just don't see someone coming along and replacing that type of player. Its a once in a decade thing to have a kraken on the line, before that was Peppers. Now he has a shot at the super bowl..

One thing we have got to remember about Hardy, is that he is going to serve a six game suspension. Guilty or not. Goodell will make it happen. So even though he's already served a suspensions of 17 games, he'll get 23 games total.

So don't expect Gettleman to throw much money at him even after "the process has played out", because I doubt Gettleman is gonna want to throw another 5 million of dead money at a guy that won't have played in a game for a year and a half at that point.

No, man, no

He just missed all of one season, besides one game. He is not going to be suspended any longer.

He probably will be suspended longer, if found guilty (see AP). The argument being that the time he's served hasn't been a "suspension" since he's gotten paid.

Not sure about if he's found not guilty. I'd like to think not.

If he's found not guilty they can't do anything to him. You are completely wrong on that

AP will get out of his suspension the only reason he didnt is because he didnt show up to a meeting with the commish or some bullshit so then they decided to extend his suspension, guilty or not, Hardy wont serve anymore time.

The not showing up to the meeting thing only lengthened his suspension, it wouldn't have gotten him out of it completely.

I honestly think it's irresponsible of all these sports writers to be dismissing Greg Hardy as gone like it's an absolute certainty, Voth included.  There has been literally nothing said by the team about him since September.  Unless they have some information we don't, all these guys are just speculating based on assumptions and calling it fact.

It's called being a member of the press. It's what they do.

Bottom line is his maturity.

He did questionable things well beyond his choice of women.

If he has grown up and mostly if he is found innocent, then a modest contract for him would be a good deal for the team.  I could imagine the chip on his shoulder towards the league if found not guilty.

A properly worded contract would make him a multi millionaire and protect the team from any stupidity

"Effective immediately, violations of the Personal Conduct Policy regarding assault, battery, domestic violence or sexual assault that involve physical force will be subject to a suspension without pay of six games for a first offense, with consideration given to mitigating factors, as well as a longer suspension when circumstances warrant. Among the circumstances that would merit a more severe penalty would be a prior incident before joining the NFL, or violence involving a weapon, choking, repeated striking, or when the act is committed against a pregnant woman or in the presence of a child. A second offense will result in banishment from the NFL;"

This is the NFL's new policy, verbatim. It doesn't mention convictions; it mentions first offenses. It also mentions weapon involvement or choking as being a special circumstance that could actually warrant longer than six games. So if someone can prove me wrong with a link that proves without a doubt that Hardy won't be suspended, I'm happy to read it and will gladly admit I'm wrong.

Hardy hasn't even been suspended yet. He's been getting paid. No time served, nothing. If you don't think the NFL can interpret rules in any way they choose to screw players, then you haven't been paying attention.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
