You might notice one practice squadder's name conspicuously absent from that list.

 

I've been scouring old news to see whether Stephen Hill's contract might have been a two year deal, but so far haven't found anything definitive.  Sites like Spotrac and Overthecap seem to show him on a one year deal, but those aren't official.

 

If anyone else knows, feel free to post.

 

I thought it was a one year deal.  Pretty sure it was one year.  Just can't find anything to back it up.

It's like you want a former first round pick, with size and speed, at a position we really need, and can get on the cheap to fail.

Why?

I think it's more a jab at the people who raised hell about Hill not being active, and yet after a season on the squad the team still only sees fit to offer a futures contract.

Granted, a discussion could certainly be had about the staff's talent evaluation prowess, but it says something that they are focusing on speed and this is still the only offer.
