2014 Draft

Round 1- SAMMIE COATES WR Auburn. some people may not like his pick but he his a big and fast WR 6'2 200 he'll run a 4.4. he's a good hands catcher but does drop passes but he can win over the top and go vertical. Put him with Kelvin and Greg they'll be dangerous.

Round 2- Laken Tomlinson OL Duke. I think he could go in the first round because of his versatility but I hope he slides just a little bit to us

Round 3- Zach Hodges OLB Harvard. A very tough kid, plays like he has something to prove

Round 4- Eric Rowe CB Utah. He has good speed for a corner but he can also play safety

Round 5- Tre McBride WR William and Mary. another bigger WR at 6'1 200 he is quick to get separation off the line and a good route runner

Round 5 (compensatory pick)- Cedric Ogbuehi OT TAM Dave started off his press conference talking about him tearing his ACL a couple a weeks ago so I think he's still on Dave's list in the 5th

Round 6- David Johnson RB UNI. I really like the way this kid runs and he can catch the ball coming out of the back field

Round 7- Deion Barnes DE PENN State. has NFL size strength and quickness but needs to work on technique

that's it let me know what you think

I think Cole is gone because we have Kyle Love..Who's younger and does the same things.. I would actually give Frank another chance since he still cheap.. and the Bersin thing...well I don't know man.. if we bring in better WR'S...he or Cotch has to go..

He tore his ACL

He's not going to drop to the fifth though. Brandon Thomas fell to the bottom of the third with an ACL that was much later in the Draft process, and he was nowhere near the prospect Ogbuehi is. I would say late second at the latest. If he's on the clock in the second round when we pick I would almost put money on him being the selection.

    • It will be really interesting to see how both sides handle this. I'm sure the team would love to get him signed to a 4 year deal based on his output so far and some potential factored in, i.e. something like a 4 year $30 million contract.  But I could see his agent telling him the best path is to take the one year offer, put up a big year next year and then really cash in. The team also has to keep in mind T-Mac's 2nd contract, which likely will happen after the 2027 season assuming he keeps improving as expected.  Even if we could get him on a budget 4 year deal for what he could become, the problem then becomes when he wants to re-negotiate in 2 years during the same summer we will extend T-Mac, and you don't want to spend that much on WRs in one offseason, just see the Bengals this last year. Taking everything into consideration, I'm thinking the 1 year deal and then getting him to sign a 4-5 year deal after hopefully say a 800ish yard season next year might be best for our cap situation and separate his and T-Mac's negotiation periods.
    • And yet jax made it no further than we did, and its very possible the Pats don't either. I think it speaks more to the overall down year for the nfl as far as having great/dominant teams, every team this year has fatal flaws that can be exploited
    • Ehhh I agree the nfc is stronger this year but their really werent any truly dominant teams this year everyone is flawed, I think the narrative for the NFL this year will to try ahd force a Josh Allen SB win
