Sigh...

Okay, i'm back. All part of the plan!

In all seriousness, im not really affected by it. Over the years i have conditioned myself to expect the bargain bin signings, so i have never really thought he, cobb, or smith were options.

So, who cares?

That being said, i have a feeling that we will resort to signing several non-speed guys left after the first wave of FA, and most likely one or two of them will be vet/stop gap guys.

Same with the Niners getting Torrey. Even though I've been screaming WR since the beginning of time, Cobb, Smith and Maclin all didn't interest me, especially with the contracts they're getting.

But you'll have to sell me on Strong...

I just think Strong just has a great chance of literally being BPA and filling a huge position of need if he is there at 25. I'm thinking I'd rather have him than a raw/project type OT at 25 but so much can happen on draft night that's hard to predict. I questioned his athleticism watching him but then he destroyed the combine with that vertical and 40 time. He's got a huge frame and he's as ripped up as a receiver can be. I don't think he'll be a dominant deep threat but he's got the speed and vertical to get vertical and win over the top. For some reason he didn't really seem to play like the athlete the combine said he was. He's a mismatch match up nightmare just like Kelvin is in the red zone with strong hands, a crazy vertical, and a big frame. I'd say he's more polished that Kelvin and has superior hands but he's still a bit raw. In fact, he didn't drop a pass at his pro day. Physical after the catch but with him and Kelvin we would still need that vertical threat and Ginn could fill that void just fine if we were to sign him. KB, Strong, Ginn, and Philly with Olsen and we'd be set for years at the position.

We weren't in the running for Maclin anyways. The way I look at it... The Chiefs just got a stud WR and will be less likely to take one in the first round ahead of us. The chances of us having Jaelen Strong available at 25 just went up a considerable amount. They could still select one for all I know, but this signing helps our chances.

True but unless philly trades for mariota, they need a receiver now

KB, Bowe, Ginn, Philly would be WAYYYY better than 2013's combo of Smitty, LaFell, Ginn and Hixon. I'd love to have Andre here and actually I most want Crabtree, Nicks, Moore, or Britt, but Bowe would be a solid signing and the best #2 we've had in years. As always, only if the price is right.

Good for Maclin.  Kelly doesn't appreciate his players from what I can see.  He wants to create the Philadelphia Ducks, so let him.  We'll see how that goes, but I don't think it's gonna go as he planned.

Kelly will be out of the league soon, I'm convinced of it. I bet Mac would've resigned with them had Chip not trade McCoy. And I'm certain Chip really wanted to keep Mac. Gore was a stupid signing in my opinion, and Maxwell, while he is the best CB available and fills a need, was likely overpaid. I hope they overpay McCourty and keep the Patriots from keeping him and then trade their entire draft and next year's early picks for Mariota. Always fun to watch the Eagles implode.

Since we play them this year, I'm glad to see their playmakers in the AFC now :goodjob:
