So who's NOT signed?

Panthers free agents that have not signed contracts...

- TE Ed Dickson (expected to get interest from other teams but has expressed desire to return)

- DE Greg Hardy (will be allowed to sign elsewhere)

- OT Byron Bell (by all indications, won't be back)

- LB Chase Blackburn (has posted that he's moving on)

- OT Garry Williams (Panthers are said to like him, but at the moment he's still unsigned)

- OG Fernando Velasco (has barely been discussed anywhere)

- CB James Dockery (ditto)

- C Kevin Matthews (low priority)

- OT T Kevin Hughes (only exclusive rights player not tendered)

Sure beats last year's list.

Outside of Dickson (who I know people have debated) and Hardy (dead horse beaten) is there anyone on that list of whom you can really say "I think we'll miss them"?

I mean I loved Blackburn's veteran presence but I think he's done.

This is much improved over last year. We're able to keep OUR players that we want to. Last year we couldn't say that. I believe part of that is that those players we were unable to sign last year were viewed as better players simply because they participated on a 12-4 team versus this past year's team.

I urge everyone to stay patient. If you're following along at home, a lot of players which we thought were in our range are signing elsewhere because there are other teams with more money...those teams are overpaying for these players.  Let them. Every dime we save by not over paying will allow us to keep the future of our organization when it's time for them to get their payday (Cam, Luke, Star, KK, KB, JNo, etc.)

Believe in Gettlemagic.

    • As much as I would love to sit here and bash on Young.  I can't.   He is absolutely a part of this team winning.  He is the cool hand leading the offense along with the hammer, Rico.  He's making plays on 3rd and 4th downs, that are absolutely helping thus team win.  Is Bryce playing as well as we'd like? Nope. Although he had only 1 week off from a high ankle sprain.   No question he was 100% in the Greenbay game.  I'm not even sure where the team would find a clear upgrade over Byrce.  He is a leader.  In the 4th quarter, he has ice in his veins.  He is a part of why our team is enjoyable to watch again.  Without him, we wouldn't be winning.    Anyways.  Y'all enjoy yet another thread designed to tear down the man.
    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
    • How do I activate said Krispy Kreme deal? I'm stoned man you can't be playing with me about this...
