Are all the D injuries due too Meek.

All this running too the ball and running plays out in practice. Putting more importance on speed and not on weight lifting and power. All Dlinemen losing weight and not gaining any power. All the injuries seem too be to the legs (except godfrey). Weren't we all ready Fast before he got here. Then we lose our only power guy (leg injury) now look at the D.

The team hired 3 new coaches with yellow vest and Red Stop signs

It's there job during practise to hold their sign up and blow a whistle ever time the new RADAR Detector Beeps

Hurney & Fox have heard you man and they will put a stop to all this running

My point was dumbasses we put more importance on being fast (which we already were) then we did on being stronger. Now the problem I see are Not being able too hold your ground (strength) or not being able too tackle or bring someone down when you have them (strength). The Offseason our Dline was told too lose weight so we can be faster. Well we are fast we get too a spot fast but we can't bring anybody down when we get their. 2nd point most of our injuries on D are too the player legs. My question could they be weaken by concentrating on trying too be faster (which they already were) instead of being stronger.

2 major problem on D have nothing too do with speed. Holding ground in the trenches and tackling have too do with strength and technique. I have heard nothing all offseason and TC about working on Strength and Technique just speed and simplifying. Could this be the problem with Meeks/Fox system this year is all I'm saying.

If you think any coach in the NFL doesn't think being strong and explosive important...you don't know as much as you think you do.

And the thing about running downfield isn't about being fast, it's about everybody getting to the ball. Two different things, if you've ever played football. The pursuit drill is not to make your guys faster. And getting your guys to the ball is in no way sacrificing their strength.

Making somebody faster is not going to make them forget how to tackle, and by no means do you have to sacrifice strength to get faster. Anybody who has spent any amount of time in athletics will tell you that you could lose 20 pounds or more and it won't have a significant impact on your speed.

So what the F is the problem why are we getting juked out our shoes by 3rd rounder on the same play over and over and over again. Why is every Rb get touch or it seem wrap up and still pushes for 3-4 more yards. Why cna't none of our DT hold ground. I'm not saying blame everything on Meeks some of this is Fox fault too. AGAIN I think they wanted speed more the strength which I already thought our Defence was.

Since you know so much about football you know it is won in the trenches. No matter how f'n fast you run too the ball if your Line can't hold ground all you are going too run into is a 300plus pound guard.

Yea ironically D.Will & Stewart was foot problems too

    • They won my vote of confidence for this year
    • I really like the way this team is trending. Morgan and Canales rookie campaign saw them do some questionable picks but, they also did some really good things. Especially addressing the offensive line.  Young had such a disastrous rookie season where his confidence was nowhere to be seen.  You can attribute part of this to a terrible offensive line.  So, we focused on the O-line.   We then brought in several defensive free agents that were supposed to compliment Brown.  Once Brown went down those players could not hold the line.  2025 we focused on defense in Free Agency and brought in several good players.  We then added more talent in the draft.  I think we have competition in several areas where Vets are not guaranteed to be starters.  Our offensive line is pretty set with some good backups.  Our defensive line is going to be a war for who comes out to be the starters.  All in All, we are leaps and bounds much better than 2023 roster.  Canales made some rookie head coach mistakes but grew as the season progressed.  He got our QB, who was starting to look like a huge bust, playing with confidence and poise.  Now it appears Young is moving upwards.  Maybe he is a QB whisperer.  After Young started to play better our offense was fun to watch.  Morgan knows football and knows what he wants in his players.  It appears to me that not only are these players he's drafted really good and got great value for them, but they are also high motor, intense players. Our defense, in the past, was always the key to our success.  I think Morgan is building a great defense. I know it is too soon to tell but I believe we may have a tandem that will be around a long time.  It would be nice to see Morgan/Canales be in the same class as Lynch/Shanahan and Beane/McDermott.   I know many Huddlers will overreact, but I truly believe we have a tandem that will be around a long time. TIME WILL TELL. Go Panthers
