Dwayne Jarrett continues to disappoint

The subject of this post -- Panthers wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett -- may not get on the field to rebound from anything. The Rock Hill Herald writes that Jarrett is probably going to be inactive on game days this year.

Ouch.

Jarrett has reportedly been passed on the depth chart by Kenneth Moore, a 2008 fifth-round draft pick of the Detroit Lions that Carolina picked up during last season. So basically Jarrett can't beat out a winless team's leftovers. (Double ouch?)

I may need to go to SC and beat up an editor. Detroit had some pretty good receivers, that certainly wasn't their problem.

Say what you will about it, and you may know more about DJ than I do but Saturday night I saw his ass open on several occasions and he wasn't thrown to. I don't think they will give up on him just yet. And if you think about it we don't really have the depth or the cap room to cut him.

    • I presented that scenario because this is a home game and we seemed to have improved in some capacity in that area as of recently. The problem with the possibility of sweeping the Bucs is this team has had a habit of quickly falling victim to momentum shifts. The Bucs are coming off a bitter loss the same as the Panthers but the Bucs have a much better proven track record this time of year and they have performed when the pressure is on unlike our Panthers. We have a shot against the Seahawks here in BOA but that is a matchup that could quickly get out of hand because they are a well coached team and that goes back to the momentum shifts I mentioned. I just don't see this team beating the Bucs in their stadium to close the season. Tall order to say the least.
    • I’d give it another year for Sanders and Evans, I don’t much care what you do with Tremble’s spot. Let him have another year or maybe replace him. Haven’t looked at his contract so that may be the determining factor.
    • Following the crazy up down pattern we finish 9-8 with an improbable sweep of TB, and lay an egg in the home playoff game.  I don’t know if I can sign on to sweeping TB but I suppose it’s possible, they aren’t really that good this year.    ps I can buy beating TB Sunday and losing to Seattle.  Then it just gets to can you fluke one game. Any given Sunday. So we’ll see.
