Carolina Panthers mock draft

Round 1, pick 25:

Cedric Ogbuehi, OT, TAM

I am almost certain at this point tackle will be the first pick off the board for us, and Cedric fits the bill as an elite talent who can come in and start after his injury is fully healed. I do not have confidence he can start at LT right away, however, he is a perfect fit for our RT spot and can eventually transition to be a blind side protector.

Other options: Andrus Peat, OT, STA: I think if he is here, Carolina would run the card up, I just have a hard time seeing him fall.

Round 2, pick 57:

Devin Funchess, WR, MICH

You have to be convinced at this point the Panthers will target four areas of need in the draft, and after tackle, the next one has to be a WR. I would be willing to bet Funchess falls to us and we ****** up another big, physical, mismatch type player. Don't believe the fall hype, the kid is still a pain to defend.

Other options: Devin Smith, WR, OHST: It becomes another case of if he manages to fall to 57, I don't think he will, and honestly, I would prefer the big man, over Smith at this point.

Shaq Thompson, S, WAS

Round 3, pick 89:

Markus Golden, DE, MISS

Why not draft another MISS DE? Golden is just as good of a pass rusher as Ealy coming out, and has the potential to be better. He lacks Ealy's over all ability however and would not be a complete of a player in the end. D-line is another need, and I think they take one here.

Round 4, pick 124:

Cameron Artis-Payne, RB, AUB

Carolina needs depth at the RB position and can get some here with the big, booming, Payne. He would work well with the read option game and can be a solid backup.

Round 5, pick 161:

Kevin White, CB, TCU

I think White could fall in the draft, and Carolina needs depth at corner. I know he is smaller, but he would be primarily a back up to Bene and come in on dime packages.

Round 5. pick 169:

Ray Drew, DT/DE, GEO

Versatile d-linemen and would be great for rotation, have to love the pick if he lands here.

Round 5, pick 174:

Kurtis Drummond, S, MCHST

I think Drummond might be my favorite safety in the draft, the dude is a hard worker, and always seems to be around the ball. Might not be the most talented played in the world, but he would bring a lot to the organisation and could compete for a starting job.

Round 6, pick 201:

Wes Saxton, TE, SALA

I have doubts he falls here, but if he does, he is the BPA and comes in the developmental mold of a Julius Thomas. Probably my favorite TE beyond Maxx Williams, this kid is going to do things in the league and I am sure Carolina would not pass him up here.

Round 7:

Jalston Fowler, FB, ALA

Carolina needs a true FB in their offense and Fowler is one of the best available in the draft. Makes sense.

Nope. no, nah....

Cedric I don't mind depending on how the board falls, but I would rather get an impact player on Defense over him at 25. Funchess sucks....he's not even as good as Kelvin Benjamin, and still has the same type of issues running routes, stretching the field, lack of lateral movement skills and his hands aren't nearly reliable enough. If we didn't already have Kelvin, sure. But we need a quality route runner with sure hands, who can stretch the field and get YAC. Funchess isn't any of those things. I would much rather move up in the second to get Devin Smith than have Funchess anywhere near this team.

If Mel Kiper and Hurney both decided to make a Panthers mock draft and that mock draft baby had kids, this would probably be what it would look like.....

We get four starters right away, possibly five. I guess I fail to see how this is bad, I think it really could fall this way.

Are you implying Funchess is in play at 25?

I think he means flips the "other options" players.

Like I said, if Andrus Peat is there of course he would be the pick, I would bust a but right then and there if he was the pick, I just am not sure if he will be available. If not, I think you have to be comfortable with Cedric as a tackle prospect. I am convinced at this point that either Peat or Cedric will be the pick.

Bruh.....you mean with all the talent in the first two rounds you think DG would pick those two chumps...smh

Cedric is a first round player and Funchess is a second round player, not exactly a loss of value lol
