Carolina Panthers mock draft

Cedric is a first round player and Funchess is a second round player, not exactly a loss of value lol

Cedric is a first round talent but he's coming off a serious injury that's also recent. I'd love him in the 2nd but not the 1st. I don't want Funchess anywhere to be honest. Don't care what grade he's got, I wouldn't want him before the 4th.

I guess I just don't understand the Funchess hate.

I think he means flips the "other options" players.

Like I said, if Andrus Peat is there of course he would be the pick, I would bust a but right then and there if he was the pick, I just am not sure if he will be available. If not, I think you have to be comfortable with Cedric as a tackle prospect. I am convinced at this point that either Peat or Cedric will be the pick.

I'd be ecstatic with the other options. Peat / Smith is pretty much my dream draft at this point. Was hoping for a Agholor in the second but that ship has sailed I think. Smith would still be a great fit for our team (if Phroehl can teach him to run intermediate routes that is).

Not really hate I just feel he's the exact kind of WR we don't need. He's a poor man's KB  (who we already have) and I don't think his ceiling is that high. I feel like his ceiling is around how well KB played his rookie year. We need an elite route runner who can create consistently large separation. Funchess isn't that. Not even close.

How about a Agholor in the 1st, Ogbuehi in the 2nd?

I'd be thrilled with that as well. I'd be nervous about the starting caliber OTs lasting that long though though. Wouldn't hate trading up a bit in the second in that scenario to make sure we got Ogbuehi (or Humphries/Clemmings, but I like Ogbuehi best of those guys).

I really like Agholor. Initially thought 25 was a little too early for him but if he's there, he's the wideout I want (over everybody except the unanimous top 3). Would be fine with Peat or Gurley or Collins there but if we go wideout I hope it's Agholor. As for Ogbuehi I don't think he'll go in the 1st because of the injury. I'd be happy trading up for him if we don't give up too much.

Wes Sexton got mocked to the Packers in the 2nd round by Daniel Jeremiah in his most recent mock. I'd only heard of him because he was BPA late in a couple fan speak mocks for me like it appears he was for you here.

I haven't heard much about Sexton I'll have to check him out.

Jeremiah actually put out a new mock yesterday - mocks Peat in the first and Smith in the second, so fits well with this thread.

Yeah I went and looked him up after seeing that. Appears he is a great athlete who is a bit raw and undersized as he is only 6'3". Fits the "slot TE" position rather than the traditional inline TE because he is a poor blocker. I don't think he would fit our scheme, but he could really excel in the right situation. I say all that having never watched him play but that's the gist of a few reports I read. Definitely an intriguing guy to watch for in the draft and over the next couple years but I don't think it will be in Carolina. NO, DEN, GB, PHI would be some natural fits I think.

I will streak if that is our 1st 2 picks...
