While I dont 100% agree with him, he has a point (to an extent). If the BUCS can win a superbowl with THE Brad Johnson, anything is possible.

You need a smart QB with enough skill and athleticism to get the job done with the throws.

 

You can build an offense around brains and skill at every position on the offensive side of the ball and have the best offense in the NFL.  Athleticism and speed are just bonuses, they are not necessary.

 

On defense you need the athleticism, instincts and speed as well as some smarts.

They both were pretty mediocre from what I remember.

Pretty sure they both played in West Coast offenses, which are very QB friendly and pad passing stats a lot.

Even mediocre quarterbacks can look half decent when all they have to do is throw a quick slant and let a speedy, elusive receiver do the rest.

when you build the team right, you dont have to depend on the qb as much. Having a QB that can still carry the offense, even though he doesnt have to....super-supreme-luxury.
