Seriously, New Orleans? You waited till now?

He was still in the image, and the team still left it hanging.

It's a bit hard to disassociate ourselves from Sharper. He was a huge part of our success that year, even if we despise the man he is. There's simply no way to wash him away from the organization, as much as we all want to. He's not even the focal point of the image. You can't see the name on his jersey. Most people wouldn't have even thought enough about it when looking at the picture to think they needed to take it down.

Edit: this is the image...

Tracy is running from Sharper in that pic, a-hole tightly clenched.

Lol. Nice story out of context. The picture is actually of Tracy Porter, arm outstretched as he ran to the end zone with the pick in the Super Bowl. Darren Sharper is in the background. They're doing some changes in Champion Square, and don't want Sharper anywhere around.

It's not as if it was a picture of Sharper. He just happened to be in the background of one of the greatest moments in New Orleans sports history.

I hear they are adding a giant tile asterisk in the middle of Champions Square.

You had me convinced, but made the mistake of posting the picture. That's a pretty clear and prominent photo of Darren Sharper. Your story worked better without the evidence.

Story? I'm not trying to give a story. I'm not trying to hide anything. That's the picture. Darren Sharper happens to be in the background. Is he a far off figure that you can hardly make out? No. He's only slightly behind Tracy Porter.

My point is, Darren Sharper played for the Saints in 2009. There's no erasing that. Taking down a picture of Tracy Porter doesn't change it. And having a picture of Tracy Porter scoring the most important TD in Sains history hanging with Darren Sharper in the background isn't some vile act. I'm happy they're taking it down.
