The Hornets' best asset going forward in free agency is the sheer futility of the Eastern conference.

The Hawks are here because they are the only team in the East that actually played like a team this season.

The Cavs are here because they have LeBron James.

Get a player down the road that can actually make a difference and we have as good a shot as any going forward.

I would guess they let him walk and try to get Frank at 15. They had Payne to fill that void but made a very good deal with Minnesota at the deadline.
