True Dedication - Dave Grohl

You may not be a fan of the Foo Fighters, but you have to give some respect to Dave Grohl.  He broke his leg yesterday during the second song of a concert, went to the back to get fixed up, then came back out and finished the concert.  A true badass.  I am now a huge fan and, hell, I may go out and buy some Foo Fighter music today just because of this.

Two songs into the band's show at Ullevi stadium, Grohl seemed to have miscalculated a jump onto a ramp, falling instead into the security pit. "I think I just broke my leg," he announced to the crowd while lying on the ground, as captured by a fan video. "I think I really broke my leg!"

About an hour later, Grohl returned to the stage on a stretcher, with the assistance of two medics. They set him down on a chair, from which he proceeded to rock for another two-and-a-half hours.

i've got to say that actually teared me up a little bit for some reason. as a former performer, i loved seeing that dedication. but as a long time grohl fan i love seeing him still kicking it and i can't believe that it's been going on for over 20 years now. that's unreal.

also it's hard for me to think about the amount of fight in him compared to cobain.(i was a nirvana fan, btw, and covered a lot of their material back in the day) cobain wasn't built to endure. grohl undoubtedly was. it's fun to watch him keep going and have so much fun with it.

Agree completely; I got chills when he came back on stage...in a stretcher nonetheless.  I definitely want to go see him if they roll through Charlotte or the surrounding area.

He broke his leg bc they got Royal Blood to open for them this summer. The anount of rock from EB shattered his bones. That was cool to finish a concert. I went to see a concert guy showed up two hrs late and sang his hit song said goodnight and left. Asheville was in near hippie riot.

Still haven't figured out how to post yt yet. Help for pie.

Something from Nothing might be the best rock song of the 21st century.

Going to try this out.  I was struggling with it earlier.  All of the sudden it worked for me and I don't know how it happened.

Edit: Okay, this is going to blow your mind.  Apparently, you just paste the link into the post!  It might take a minute to actually realize it's a YT link, but it will load eventually.  I'm posting from the web, not the app.

    • I think people are harsh on him over the weightlifting a little bit but at the same time I don’t see any evidence that he has done anything.  I would think he should have been working on strengthening his base after watching how easy he goes down with any kind of contact. Like with a couple of fingers even.
    • I see the issues with Tyreek, which is why I put an asterisk on him and all the way on the bottom. I don't even see him playing at all this entire year since he hasn't even been seen working out at all. But I do not think he's as hard to play with as Stefon Diggs is IMO and Tyreek is more of a game changer. But either way, it's pie in the sky.  Always loved Keenan and he is from the Carolinas so that's really the only thing that may interest him playing here if no one is giving him any calls to play.
    • It's not that I'm not rooting for him to do well, but I'd be lying if I said him having a good season wouldn't scare me after what we've seen out of him so far. I'd be afraid of it just being one of those situations you see all the time, a player is in a make it or break it season, they somehow raise their level of play to new levels, and then proceed to immediately drop back off a cliff the next season (although this does usually happen in contract years, not a player trying to not get cut). Now, if you tell me that no matter how well he plays, we're then going to flip him for a draft pick in the offseason, then yea, I'd want him to go off for a monster season so we can get a better return.
