Stephenson signing still wasn't a bad move by us.  Good contract is only reason he was tradable.  Low risk, just didn't work out.

Yeah, I see this as dumping an assets that's only value to the hornets is a distracting expiring for two players that have at least some value and can be parlayed into other assets.

People are being way too generous with the Lance and Biz "potential" label. Neither of those players were particularly good to put it nicely, and God forbid we get stuck with this same roster for 2015.

I don't know if it makes us better, but thank God Lance is gone and we are at least trying to go in another direction.

Reports are we are waiving Matt Barnes. A salary dump if ever there was one. That's how bad Lance truly was last season.

Not a fan of this. I was hoping to see the way Lance responded this year. I think he would have responded well. If we were going to trade I was hoping for a late 1st but to flip him for essentially cap room (Cut Barnes) and Hawes??? Im not seeing it.

I predict that if this happens, neither one of them makes it to the roster in November. I have a feeling cho wants some less toxic assets to trade on draft night.

I like spacers and Hawes can stretch the floor.  Had down year last year shooting the ball but career 35% 3 point shooter.  Had a year over 40% shooting 300 threes in a season.

But I also liked Stephenson signing and thought he would be a good player for us so what do I know

Imo, hard to call a winner on this trade...  Only player really worth a poo in their team's rotation out of the three involved was Barnes. 

 

It is addition by subtraction for us, regardless of who we got back...  I just hate it because it was rumored that we were in talks with them for Lance back in January or February...  I feel we could've gotten more back if we were able to pull it off then. 

 

Also, how weird is it that we have had two different trades DURING the NBA Finals?  I don't ever recall one happening during this period before.
