How could the Hornets pick Justice Winslow...

...when they're still stuck on acting like they don't believe picking MKG at #2 was a mistake? They are living a lie, and that's their biggest problem. Perpetrators.

But I don't know what you guys are mad about. You wanted a guy at #2 who couldn't shoot at all when shooting was the team's biggest need, and most of you still bullheadedly argue in favor of the pick to this day. Why would the Hornets pick over MKG?

Now calm down. Those of you talking about Winslow like he's a superstar in the making sound ridiculous. He'll be a better NBA player than MKG, though, which I'm sure the Hornets knew when they passed on him.

Whats worse them not moving on from him or the fact that he is by far the teams best player....

Them thinking that because he is their best player they can't move on from him instead of comparing him to other teams' best players and deciding that they need a better "best player" so they need to move on from him.

I actually agree with all of this. Cho and Jordan refuse to draft anyone who could start over their precious MKG. It's fuging sickening.

Man, you must either be a hardcore UNC fan or you're trying to convince yourself that Winslow sucks and that's the reason why MJ didn't draft him with outrageous claims like that.

Winslow is a great defender. He can guard up to three positions (Power Forward, Center and Shooting Guard) and he possesses top notch athleticism and decent size/reach to accompany his defensive tenacity. While his outside shooting and free throws do need improvement, he has a smoother and more fluid shot than MKG will ever have.

Justise will be more than just a role player.

I think Winslow is going to be a solid player. Role player on a good team or a nice 2nd unit guy. Winslow will never be THE guy on a championship team.

He is 6'4. He will not be able to guard NBA PF's.

Frank is better. Elite scorer, shooter. Good rebounder. Good shot blocker. Very good passer. Good handle for his size. Great feel around the basket. Knows how to creat a shot for himself off the bounce. Reason why this guy was national player of the year.

It's kinda wayyyy too early to say that. After all, Winslow was the guy for Duke during tournament run.

Once more, Winslow measures higher than 6'4". The easiest way to confirm that is to check out Dwyane Wade's twitter feed. He met Winslow two months ago and took a pic together. Justise not only appeared taller (an inch minimum) but possessed a thicker frame than Wade too. Males don't stop growing until age 23. That means Winslow might end up at 6'7" -- big enough to handle PFs at size.

Not many share that opinion. Yes, Frank is a better shooter and scorer but rebounder? Nope. Defensively? Not even close. Athletically? Hell no. One of strongest knocks against The Tank is indeed his ability to create his own shot at the next level and handle any type of physicality. Not one scout believes that Frank will be able to do what he did at Wisconsin.

Frank averaged 8 boards a game. 2 blocks. Give him 2 more of each and that is elite level. While not elite those numbers are darn good. Especially when you include them with his offense.

Frank will easily be able to create his own shot in the NBA, unless he somehow losses his ball handling and coordination. He was a guard in high school. His pump fake, hard jab, spin moves will serve him well in the NBA like they did the NCAA.

The only knock I see that is legitimate is his physicality in the post. However, you can fix that. I use to be a pussy in the post when I played ball until I got some more meat on my bones and learned how to use my legs, hips, and chest.

Incorrect, I wanted Beal over MKG. I also wanted DeAndre Jordan over Alexis Ajinca. I honestly could've done a better job as a GM for the Hornets than these incompetent ass holes.

    • I like what Freeling brings to the table all around. If he is willing to put in the work he has an opportunity to be one of the better Tackles in the league down the line. Hunter Brazzell and Hecht are all premium additions but development from our staff are the key to unlocking them. Hopefully Lee and Wheatley will provide much needed additional depth to our secondary. Beyond that it's important not to get too caught up in draft grades. Many drafts over the years that turned out to be really good were not fawned over with praise. While some that were ended up being historical duds. Panthers fans ought to know this as well as anyone. In conclusion...
    • Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.   Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft.  His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move.  It was a no brainer pick.   Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities. Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed.  Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR.  Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense.  Basically Jimmy Horn with size. W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart)  What a great name.  A great value in the 5th round. Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft.  He's most likely a starter sooner than later. Wheatley A good safety in round 5.  Someone who could see playing time.   Kuwatch  I love this pick.  At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play.  His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game.  Good coaching will fix this.  He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.   All these picks were great value.  I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.   Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
