Just an observation from my camp experience today

Why? Because the cba regulates this.

This has nothing to do with coach Rivera.

2 a days are allowed from the 4th day of camp but only one of them can be padded and the other one none full speed (so basically walk through). And there is a max of 3 hours in pads and 4 hours total for one day.

Oh I remember that the CBA banned 2 a days. I was just referencing the difference of what ten years has been for training camp. I get everyone's theory of protecting players etc for a day off...but like I said earlier, this team isn't known to start off hot or even do well after byes. Ron is 5-11 during his first four games the past 4 years. Not good. Plus I'd be interested to see if there was actually a decrease of injuries for TC with the new CBA or with vets having personal days etc

    • I get it's disappointing, but this was definitely a seller's market and the only players traded away were players that would be depth pieces at best for us. A lot of the top teams (Avs, Stars, Lightning, Wild post Hughes) really only traded for depth pieces. Just a terrible trade deadline all around and I'm glad we didn't cave and sell the farm for somebody like Tro (even though I like him and he fits our team well).
    • Yes the Icky thing really kills us this year with a 17.4 I think, million dollar hole, for nothing.     His extension would likely have reduced his 2026 hit. But the extension was going to be massive.    At the same time, the massive extension money is largely freed up now and can go elsewhere.  There is just no way he should be in line for the same payday as pre injury.  I say largely freed because maybe we can do a little hollowed out extension to give him a window to get back and stay with the team past this year. Snap count and/or other incentives for 2027. Something that leaves the door open for him to get a fresh contract that reflects his value moving into 2028. Whatever that proves to be.  We’d have a lot of that money that was earmarked for his extension available to us starting next year.
    • What a major letdown. This team will forever disappoint me
