David Newman gives away Peanut's Secret...

How can David Newton be a real Panther's fan.  He gives away the secret to the Peanut Punch  in his camp observation article today!

Ok, ok. I'm sure other CBs know the principle of the thing, it's just the doing it well that's hard.  But still, I confess Newton's writing about it annoyed me.  He tells exactly where the vulnerable spot is.  Sigh.

until this point, NFL coaches, coordinators, and ball carriers had no idea where the vulnerable spot of the ball is. now that they know the vulnerable spot of the ball, we can expect fumbles to pass out of existence in the league. forced fumbles will cease to become a statistic and offenses will score one million points per game.

thanks for ruining football david newton

I obviously missed the tone I was aiming for in what I wrote.  Too tired tonight.  I should have gone for much more fake horror.... or better humor.  Instead I just came off annoyed.  (David Newton can do that to people).

Vampire slayer said it MUCH better!  :-)  Thanks.  Pie for you.

Dammit David Newman!!!!!! You filthy ape!!!!!!!

Stop lying. You were serious and now you feel dumb so you're trying to backtrack.

    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
    • It is goofy how some people hate Bryce so much that they're flat out lying to try and remain entitled to their pessimism. It's insanity. Most fans are realists and eagerly awaiting the season to see if we get pre- or post-benching Bryce to start the season and how much he is able to do with some young and developing weapons. Many of us understand that these young guys are going to have growing pains on the job as well as the new defense, but the fans with all of the excuses for why Bryce can't be successful are pounding the no excuses drum. Personally, I'd prefer the Keep Pounding drum.
