Corrected Tables with Preseason Receiving Statistics

Apologies all, I've been off my game today in posting various tables and stats.  I'm a bit under the weather and so made sloppy errors.

In several threads today I posted data regarding reception stats for the Panthers in the first 3 preseason games, derived from the Gamebooks downloaded from Panthers.com  The Gamebooks are the only places I've found numbers of targets per player.  In any case, I had a bunch of errors in the tables which messed up the average yards per reception, and the longest reception.  I also had incomplete data re: number of games played for some players.  Here are the corrected tables.

Here are the receiving stats sorted by total yards:

By the way, for anyone wanting the gamebook statistics to do your own analysis, they're not super easy to find on the Panthers website.  It took me some googling and some playing around to figure out how to get them.

Go to the Panthers Schedule page, and the Game Schedule link:

http://www.panthers.com/schedule/schedule.html

You can then click on the "gameday" link for any individual game, e.g. Preseason week 1

http://www.panthers.com/schedule/game/2015/preseason1

And there in tiny print under the score line at the top, you'll find links for

And then below are various stats for the game.

So... here are the gamebook links for each of the 3 pre-season games. (copy & paste link into your browser)

These are the publicly available gamebooks.  There are apparently somewhat more details ones which include each players' snap counts (I was sent a copy of the preseason game 3 detailed gamebook by a friend.)  I don't know how to find the more detailed gamebooks.  Perhaps they are only available to media or NFL officials, or perhaps there is a subscription service...?

For all the talk on how sure handed Bersin is, the numbers (albeit they are limited) don't back it up.

True.  He himself admitted he's not been playing up to expectations.  His stats were much better last year.

Primarily he made a number of clutch 3rd down conversions

Here is his 1st down percentage

                                                GP / rec / 1st downs / 1st down %

176Brenton BersinWRCAR 15  /13  /  11  / 84.6

So, 11 of his 13 receptions were for 1st downs - one of the highest rates in the league.

He caught 13 of 20 targets (65%) for 151 yards and 1 TD

He had only 1 drop on the 20 targets.

Here's drop % data for Carolina receivers last year

this is taken from Sporting Charts:  http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/drops/2014/

You need to add a fantasy stat angle to better illustrate your point.

PPT per rec target. Go to the googles and see.

Thanks.  I'll check it out.  I'm not involved in Fantasy Football, so I'm not so aware of a lot of those sites or the stats they track.
