Agreed. I think a seasoned vet as a backup will boost the OL rotation and would be a big impact.

Exactly a guy with a lot of game and starting experience is exactly what we need on a extremely green Oline. Our Oline depth's experience is quite scary. Nobody with more then 1 year in the league. And Scwartz, wasn't he even a 7th rounder? Man we need this guy, I think he could even line up inside if guard in a pinch.

Unlikely you'd see him picked up prior to week one. To do so would guarantee his salary.

After Monday, then teams will be more likely to look. Whether or not one of them would be the Panthers? Unknown.

too many benefits to waiting. it's worth the gamble form an organizational POV.

threw out through the door....hooked on phonics ftw

just got this from rotoworld...

He's not bad...for a backup. probably better than any options we have as far as depth on the line at tackle is concerned. the decision from hat i can tell had more to do with cap room than anything (though they weren't totally thrilled with him replacing peters anyway).

he's been in the league for a good while so waivers wouldn't be an issue. if he is still available after this week's game and the panthers aren't thrilled with their depth, he could be a good option. I would only like him at RT. at LT he would scare me, i think.

still at 6'8 366 pounds he could be a nice fit.

I'd take him over the slow footed The Schwartz.

The most important thing for a tackle is feet and foot speed. The Schwartz has zero foot speed. Zero.
