Team Captains are....

Initiative.....Will.......Heart.....Love of the game....desire to do better, and get better each and every opportunity you have. He has never tried to improve any moves he has at the DE position. If he has he has failed at displaying it.

Same ole' run up grab, dance, and ass around with the linemen, unless he really wanted to do his one and only move...which is speed around the end.

Double team.....yeah...ok. Give me that argument.....and I'll give you 10 times he didn't demand a double team....per game!

Seen it in spurts, that's about it. Any of you say you have seen different....then glasses may be in order.

Yea dude, you're absolutely right. That's why all our players 3 years in a row definatly have not voted for him to be a captain... or why every other NFL team we play has to spend 5 days of practice before they play us gameplanning how they are going to keep peppers from disrupting their offensive gameplan.

I think you're the one in need of glasses if you didn't see all he did last season. Which seems like you didnt. You only saw what you wanted to that fulfills your own agenda.

You bought into this fallacy from posters saying he's lazy stemming from his down year in 2007. Now every time he doesn't get a sack or INT or FF or making hits in the backfield, you think he's not showing any effort.

Regarding Pep, it IS possible that he's shown a new type of fire in camp and practices that the coaches have latched onto. Richardson was a deciding factor in assigning him captain in 2007, and we know how that turned out... i don't see that mistake being made twice unless they're sure.

No guarantees, but maybe we'll see Julius Peppers 2.0 this season.

If his teammates say he should, then he should. They're the one's who know him personally and see how hard he works in practice everyday when none of us are watching.

Not trying to start any poo here....but I think game day is what is more important to fans.

The things WE see. I don't give a damn what he does at practice....if he can't do it on the field, and represent the same.....then FVUK HIM, or anyone else that just cashes a check!

He has had his moments, and yes he is a freak....but only when he chooses to do so, and I'm sick of that.

    • Fug Em!   Lil bastard was milking injuries most of his time here. The moment he leaves he's all of a sudden a workhorse RB and a MVP candidate.   *Poo me up I'm a big boy I can handle it.
    • Another source: NFL Rumors: Hakeem Butler to Visit Panthers After UFL Success, Wade Phillips' Praise ZACH BACHAR JUNE 10, 2024 The Carolina Panthers are expected to conduct a workout with UFL wide receiver Hakeem Butler, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Butler recorded a league-leading 652 receiving yards as a member of the St. Louis Battlehawks. He was previously a fourth-round draft pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2019. After the Battlehawks were defeated by the San Antonio Brahmas in the XFL Conference title game, Brahmas head coach and longtime NFL coach Wade Phillips told the receiver that "I'm going to tell everybody in the NFL that I talk to that you need to be playing," via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. Despite the loss by St. Louis, Butler still hauled in six receptions for a team-high 59 receiving yards. The 28-year-old was named the 2024 UFL Offensive Player of the Year, as he was one of only two wideouts to have multiple games with at least 100 receiving yards. While the Panthers added Diontae Johnson and first-round rookie Xavier Legette to their wide receiver room in the offseason, they could still use some depth in the form of Butler. Carolina isn't opposed to picking up former UFL players, as Rapoport revealed on Thursday that the team is also "expected" to sign All-UFL receiver Daewood Davis. Although Butler was selected by the Cardinals in the 2019 draft, he did not play as a rookie due to a hand injury and only appeared in two regular-season games as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020. He did not record a catch. Butler signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2023 offseason, although he ultimately didn't make the team's regular-season roster. At 6'5", he has the frame to potentially make an impact in training camp and earn a shot at making Carolina's 53-man roster. If his workout goes well with the Panthers, Butler could give himself another chance to possibly return to the NFL.
