John Clayton's previews of the best games of the Week and the Panthers vs Eagles lead the way.

After reading this article is anyone else a little upset at the lack of respect the Panthers are getting lately? I know we like to fly under the radar but I'm so tired of hearing about the Falcons and Saints (especially the Saints). I don't think I'm crazy when I say that the Panthers and Cowboys (another team that no one talks about) could be meeting again in a wildcard game come January.

I hate the whole "under the radar" thing because it's bollocks, but I am very frustrated at how we are regarded in the media. You'll basically hear one thing being brought up about the Panthers EVERY time, Jake's game against the Cardinals. God forbid they actually talk about things relevant to this year...

Why is that? Being in the limelight means that your mistakes are highlighted further (hence why you only hear about Jake's performance).

Also, I think it's quite normal for the media to latch onto passing teams. Passes are often more difficult and spectacular, just by nature of the football going from one player to another at a distance. There doesn't appear to be much excitement in running because the player already has the ball, and gaining "only" 5 yards isn't fun to watch (for many people).

Also, the STEELERS aren't getting any love. You know, the champs. Why? NO PRETTY PASSING OFFENSE. One of the ALL TIME BEST DEFENSES EVER in an era that favors offense rules wise, and no love. That tells me everything I need to know about the media and what it likes.

The Steelers are virtually being picked across the board by every analyst to repeat. Hows that not getting love?

No, I think without TO they could be very good. As far as the panthers it amazes me that with the talent we have on both sides of the ball why we aren't picked more to go to the playoffs. The excuse I keep hearing is that our schedule is so tough which is nice but the rest of the NFC South plays virtually the same schedule.

Im really not getting all the love for the Falcons lately. 99% of the previews that I have seen have them winning the South. Am I missing something here? Do they really have a better team, top to bottom, than we do?

I would say that possibly QB is the only advantage they have against us.....and Im not going to start slobbing Matty Ice's knob just yet. Yes, he had a decent rookie year, but Jesus, you would think that he put up Brady numbers last year the way people are talking about him.

We have better RB's

Better O-Line

Better WR's

D-Line is about even

Better LB's

Better DB's

I really dont understand....

    • I have said if you out even an average QB into the offense we are averaging 25+ points a game. But that will never happen with Bryce under center.
    • The defense is 28 out of 32 in salary cap allocation for 2025. We have a ton of resources tied up in the offense including the highest paid OL in the league multiple 1st round WR's and multiple recent draft picks across the offense at TE and RB and we have two 1000 yard backs. Bryce and company couldn't get past Tyler Shough and his crew in 2 games. That's all there is to it. You can spin it and put the entire onus on the defense to your heart's desire it doesn't change the fact that this is an OFFENSIVE team now. If you want to argue that we should revert back to a defensive identity as we have been in the past which has brought us success then I will agree with you on that. But as it stands the onus is on the offense because that is where we have invested through the nose. Dave Canales and Bryce Young need to do a hell of a lot better than they have against the rebuilding Saints who without us should only have 2 wins this season.
    • Bryce is not trending up. He is the same QB he has always been. Bottom of the league in most categories.  If Canales thinks he can build a contender with Bryce then he is a bigger idiot then I thought.  Offense next year will have the same issues and be just as inconsistent as it was this year.  We have seen Bryce’a ceiling and it is 175 yards a game and that is not a QB you keep around as your starter. That is barely a backup.
