How many missed sacks does Kony Ealy have?

Not if history or common sense is any indication.

Player   Rookie   Year 2   Year 3    Year 4
CJ             0           6           4            11.5
Hardy        3           4           11          15
Ealy           4           0(X)       ?             ?

Yea they will draft the replacement for a guy who had more sacks than CJ or Hardy in their first season and CJ/Hardy didn't really come into their own until year 3/4. They may very well draft another DE in round 1 or 2 but it won't be to replace Ealy...especially not on early downs.

And I'm not even the biggest Ealy fan but facts is facts.

Hardy was a full-time starter his 2nd year, if Frank never got hurt Ealy wouldn't even start and now Allen here and with Delaire already looking better he might go back to coming off the bench. He definitely will be coming of the bench when CJ gets back. Hardy had 50 tackles, 4 sacks, 11 passes defended, 1 safety and a forced fumble. Nothing suggest Ealy touching those numbers and nothing suggest him having 6 or more sacks like CJ did his 2nd year. And right now nothing suggests he's going to have this big 3rd year that you guys are banking on him to have.

I'm not banking on anything just showing that he's in line with the rest of the DE's that were drafted with him and in most every draft. Me saying I think he could go for double digit sacks is mainly optimism...like those saying "I think Brown will be fine" when he had 100 drops(course he's not doing all that much either).

You don't draft guys in the 2nd round to make a impact in their 3rd year, granted there still is plenty of football left but the concern should be there

Apparently in the NFL you do...or did you not see the rest of the draft he was in? Which of those DEs taken with Ealy have had this magical impact this or last year?

Here's a hint too...check out the 2013 draft for DE 1st/2nd round...apparently a lot of you are either super confused or just don't really pay much attention to the NFL.

Lots of 10+ sack guys on that 2013 list right....yea no.

It's really not hard to find this info so I'd like to hear exactly who, or why these people think Ealy is behind or where are these magical dominant 1st-3rd year DEs.....not many seem to exist at all...yet we need to get rid of Ealy already...lol k.

Guys like Peppers, White, Smith, and Watt are rare and very hard to come by...so not sure where you guys are getting this idea from.

Delaire was put in on obvious pass rushing downs.  Ealy may not grade out the best but he contributes a ton.  Give me an every down player.

This. CJ and Hardy bot made names for themselves as 3rd down rushing DE's in their early years.

That being said, Delaire had himself a pretty sweet first game.

Well first off i wasn't for drafting ealy, the de class was average at best, wanted a olinemen or another wr. Second,What's the snap count for the other guys, ealy is pretty much a full-time starter for us at the moment not sure those other guys are getting that kind of playing time. Not once did i say i expect 10+ sacks from ealy, 5-9 range is where i would like him to be at, again the de class in 2014 was kinda meh, tuitt is doing decent in pit and im pretty sure ford is injured, but there was like 3de drafted in the first 4 rounds in 2014. the det de from 2013 has been ballin, not every de needs 3 years to make a impact and if that's who ealy is,we should have drafted him later then the 2nd and got a player that could have made a immediate impact years 1-2......again it's too early to determine but he hasn't shown much flashes since the start of the season

It's only a terrible comparison if you're an idiot.

Hardy had a first round grade and only slid due to character concerns...that's pretty well documented he even talks about it himself.

3rd round is soooo fugin much different than a 2nd right..no.

Also if you did this around the league for other teams DL you'd see much of the same...but keep on with that...you'll get far around here.

How does that change the fact that Ealy was drafted ahead of them? how does that change the fact that Ealy has gotten more playing time in his first two seasons and still hasn't been productive. Our pass rush has been terrible thus far

And who the hell said I wanted Ealy in the first place? I wanted a receiver with his pick

Gonna need you to find snap count data to back that up.  Ealy may have been a second rounder, but he didn't see significant time until nearer to the end of last year.  Additionally, your 'production' only accounts for sacks and would require a split between run downs and passing downs to properly assess.  Finally, you mention 'fighting their way up the depth chart' but this isn't college - you're either the starter, a backup/ST, or you don't see the field.

I'm pretty sure CJ and Hardy had to fight for playing time. Just like Tre Boston is doing now or Funchess.
