Delaire is a good bit smaller than Hardy. (Ealy is the same size as Hardy) Looks to me that Delaire is quicker than Hardy.

He is smaller---plays at about 255-260, some 25 lbs smaller.  Compares more to Addison or  a shorter Jared Allen, but Delaire is a tweener who may even project to a 3-4 OLB better than a 4-3 DE.  Here, I doubt he is ever more than a situational pass rusher, but that is OK.

My concern about DE is we have five guys holding down roster spots.  All have specialties.  Wes Horton is better vs. the run, Addison and Delaire get after the passer but are not strong vs. the run. CJ has not shown much of late, but can be great at both.  Allen? I question his heart at this point.  I really think he is drawing a check, but if he can get 6-8 sacks this season, you have to applaud the move.  I will say that winning could put an extra bounce in his step.

Now looking at the big picture and into the future, We have some DL contracts on the horizon.  KK, Star, and CJ.  Unless CJ is willing to take a major pay cut, I see him leaving.  His production has rarely equaled his pay.  I fully expect Ealy to continue his growth and for Delaire to become a part of the team.  So as I look at the DE spot next year, I see Ealy, Delaire, Addison, and maybe a high draft pick in the 2016 draft.  Expect them to replace Allen, possibly CJ and Horton.  Will Alexander re-sign to a friendly deal and do we want him?

So if Delaire can become better vs. the run it would certainly make Gettlemen's spring easier.

FWIW, there is some 4-3 DE talent in this year's draft. I see DE being our first-round selection.  Prediction, 6 months in advance:  Emmanuel Ogbah, Oklahoma State.  6-4, 275.

Pressure on Wilson = Sacks on Bradford.

I really hope was continue to see this type of play out of Delaire.  I'd imagine his inexperience at stopping the run will limit his snap counts against Philly since we'll always have to account for Phily's run game.  But on passing downs, we can pin our ears back against Bradford.

You question Jared Allen's heart?  After one game, a game when he got hurt?  Good lord, man.  That'd be a bit knee jerk with any player, but it's full on crazy when it's being aimed at a guy who has shown a ton of heart throughout his career.

Aso, Ogbah is probably a pipe dream.  He's a likely top 10 pick.

Yes.  Not the person, but the point in his career.  He has made a lot of money, is on the decline, and he is conserving his resources.  I question any athlete's heart when they enter the last few weeks/months of their career. They start thinking about retirement, money, etc.    I never mentioned getting hurt.  You are assuming.

I agree about Ogbah--too much talent.  I have not kept up with him this year.  Good OT draft again, good DE draft. Too soon, I know, but nice to know.

I just don't think it's in him to mail it in.  The guy is like Smitty, he's all heart.

I like his motor, but I was talking about his heart, and there is a bit of a difference.  It was more about a player in the twilight of his career than a statement about Allen.  I have known a ton of players who had tremendous heart throughout their career describe hitting the wall.  Some say they played too long, etc.  That was my concern.  Funny, I thought of Smitty before you mentioned him.

You had me until the McRib. Fakest poo since the chicken McNugget.

Delaire's passion and motor is awesome and only his second game. Can't wait till the game slows down for him and he fine-tunes his technique.

McNuggets used to be pretty decent when the first came out.  Then they had to go and make it "healthier" by cutting out the dark meat and it's been poo since.

Took Hardy a few years to be anything like this kid is already. I predict he will be even better than Hardy.

I was going to make that parallel too...he looks like a quicker(but possibly not as strong) Hardy, which would be really good for us.

Hardy can and does move inside and I don't see Delaire moving inside...he seems to me like strictly an outside guy but who knows add more years to his game...
