It was both.

They signed Lucas to their Practice Squad, then cut him the next day in favor of Williams.

Just a few days ago, they elevated Williams to the regular roster.

Now will Simonson actually be active this weekend? My instincts would be no unless they have had him in the gameplan all week and were trying to gain an advantage by not pulling him up until today

It's something we've done before so I wouldn't put it outside the realm of possibility. Bersin was called up on Saturday and played on Sunday against the Saints this year already.

True, but you have to remember, Bersin played in 17 games last season (incl post season).  He wasn't exactly a rookie call up from the PS this year.

Sure, but Simonson has been with the team the entire season and practices everyday. He doesn't really need active roster experience to get a jersey.

My guess is that he will be active with Mayo, Wegher, Marlowe, Shaq, Daryl, Dwan, Norwood as the inactives. A 3rd TE is more useful than a 6th WR so he gets the spot ahead of Norwood.

Only thing I can remember Brockel doing this year was get called for PI doing a pick play that cancelled an Olsen TD vs. the Taints

because Klein was out and Jacobs was the backup MLB. With Klein back, Jacobs moves into the ST role
