Packers against QBs that can run

I really want to see more CAP. I keep saying it, but it holds true. I think CAP, running the option with Cam, will be explosive. He just needs the carries. I know they want to save him until he's absolutely needed, but give it a shot and let him get 10 snaps.

It needs to be done for multiple reasons. Find out what you have in CAP. Start limiting JSs touches. He's on pace for around 290 carries. Considering Stew has never had more than 221 in a season(and that was 6 years ago), plus his overall injury history, it's time to get him some breaks. Also, CAP has to be prepared because if an injury occurs, he is the lead back. Fozzy and Tolbert aren't good in that role. And an added bonus.....fresh legs.

This Panthers team is 10x better than the team the Packers saw last season.

Injured Cam, Stewart returning from injury, Tolbert out from injury. No speed WRs to threaten with the end around, or to push the defense deep to get the defense from pressing the run and sitting on Olsen. Not to mention a better run blocking OL and tackles who can protect Cam.

The secondary has gone from garbage to shut down. Norman can shut down Cobb. Tillman can shut down Jones. Safeties can roam. Highly doubt Kuechly gets ejected again and Shaq Thompson will play. Panthers can cover with all 3 LBs and choose who to blitz based on Packers formation. No pass rush last season. This time they see Jared Allen who has had Rodgers number over the years (16 sacks in 12 games), Kawaan Short who will destroy the weak interior of the Packers OL, and a nickel back in Bene who is not Charles Godfrey.

The Packers also have to respect the return man this time around with Ginn.

The Packers opened up with 21 points in the 1st Q last season. The Panthers D is not allowing any team to score a TD in the 1st Q this season.

Every way I look at this game, the personnel match ups greatly favor the Panthers - even more than the Broncos match ups last week for the Packers. The only concern is the coaches shutting the team down and allowing Rodgers to stay in the game. The Packers can out coach the Panthers. I just hope the Panthers coaches have the sense to trust in the preparation and development of Cam and Luke, and let them freely make calls on the field. I am tired of seeing the play calls coming in late to Cam and Luke at key moments in the game. If you watch, you will see both Cam and Luke telling the coaches to hurry it up and get the call in at these moments.

It will be a good game. Will the Panthers be able to continue to control the game like they have every week this season?

I'm guessing CAP will be inactive this game.  With some players like Daryl Williams back from injury, the battle for a jersey gets harder.  I think the players on the line will get priority over a RB with Stew healthy and playing well.  But I hope CAP is active.  Always good to have a backup suited up, and I think CAP is better than Fozzy.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
