Unfortunately, all signs point to us not getting a comp pick for Hardy.

I'm sure that even if we should get a pick for it the NFL will shaft us one last time for that guy and since the formula is "secret" will get to deny deny deny

Not for certain, but to quote the Magic 8 Ball, "signs point to no" (at least as of last reporting).

Well whenever I use my magic 8 ball and trust it it's always the opposite of what I should do so I'm going to say that we'll be getting that damn comp pick. Hell even if we don't fit the formula DG can go to Goodell mafia style and force him to bend the rules since we got fuged over by him last year taking $13.5M of our cap space away. Goodell will come home one day to the horse head.

Why?  He meets the criteria. Isn't it based on snap counts?

I think it's based on a combination of quantum physics and the Zodiac.

The last time Voth talked about it, he was pretty iffy on the idea. It's possible things may have changed since then but no one's really discussed it for a long time.

I'm not expecting it.

If it happens, I'll be happily surprised.

According to this article, it's based on salary and how many games the player is on the gameday roster.  Hardy could still net us a third round pick, barring he gets any additional suspensions or commits any more general acts of retard.

My worry there is it's David Newton.

Like I said, I'm just not expecting it, but I'll be thrilled if it does happen.

    • One thing I didn’t consider is how thin this draft is at quarterback. That’s going to drive up the market for backups and borderline starters like Willis, Jones, and Jameis Winston. Because of that, we’ll most likely be priced out of the market for this tier of backup.
    • We've already beat the #1 seed twice, why not one more? (Packers and Rams were both #1 seed at the time we played)
    • My determination has come down to this. Based on recent QB history, has Bryce's improvement warranted 50m per season? Lamar is the only original team QB to play on his 5th year. The others took major deals at the end of the 3rd, before or just after the option was signed. Chances are, we're getting asked for the same.  I haven't rooted for Bryce to fail. I've rooted for him to succeed so big that them signing that extension would give me no worries about our future at QB at all. We haven't seen that level of play consistently that this year. We haven't seen it in the past 6 games.  We're about to be at a threshold with Bryce and I worry about what this front office will do. We have a history of bad decision making and Morgan has been part of that group making those decisions. I don't want Carolina in the same boat Arizona and Miami are right now. It has nothing to with being right. It has to do with wanting to win for more than a single season. We've never had back to back winning seasons. Faith in their abilities is not warranted at this point.
