I almost feel guilty imagining how good we will be when KB is back..

Former players?

I wouldn't be down with that and he probably wouldn't be either. I think I might give one to Marty Hurney though. At the end of this season, he will probably be able to say he drafted an MVP, and *2* players worthy of Defensive Player of the Year in back-to-back drafts. Without Kuechly, Cam, and Norman (not to mention Olsen/Stew/TD/etc), we're not sniffing a Super Bowl this year.

I keep thinking... what team is comparable to the 2015 Panthers?

The closest I came was the early 80s 49ers.

You had Montana the happy go lucky competitive offensive leader. Ronnie Lott the serious defensive leader/motivator who was smarter than just about every QB he faced. I can not help but see the similarities of two young leaders on opposite sides of the ball growing together with their young head coach.

The Panthers seemingly have a very similar personality as the early 80s 49ers.

When KB returns to form I believe the Panthers will be comparable to the late 80s 49ers with a young Jerry Rice.

Of course, there are technical differences, but I believe this is the most comparable team to the Panthers. The Panthers seem to have the ever elusive formula for a dynasty in the modern era.

Enjoy it because this achievement is close to impossible. Then again 19-0 is close to impossible, but the Panthers seem to be on the verge of achieving what many view as the impossible. The Panthers have the team character/philosophy to ignore the typical pressure and let downs that we are all conditioned to see from modern day teams.

The Panthers are truly a throwback.

It's apparently not unprecedented, but I can't find an example to compare to.

Maybe "former players" refers to someone cut or traded during the season?  In our case, I would think Colin Cole would qualify.  RIchie Brockel too.

While talking of who should get rings, I would vote we give one to both Braylon Beam and Master Sergeant Cedric King who have been such inspirations to this team and the whole fanbase, and Ron's sister-in-law, in memory of Mickey.

I wasn't sure, so I looked it up. Per Wikipedia, the NFL pays for 150 rings that the winning team can distribute however they like. Teams typically do "B" and "C" level rings to hand out beyond that 150 ring limit, at their own expense. The team can also purchase additional "A" level rings if they want, again at their own expense. The rings go to whoever the team wants to give them to, meaning that IR, practice squad, former players, stadium staff, Sir Purr, etc. all have a chance to get a ring.

... So every fan that sufferd through the years of defeat being snatched from the jaws of victory...
